The mountain’s territory includes Vitosha Nature Park, which features the most renowned and frequently visited areas with a variety of picturesque hiking routes. • Boyana Church - After experiencing the stunning natural scenery, you will return to Sofia to explore its ancient and historical landmarks. The first stop will be Boyana Church, a medieval Bulgarian Orthodox church located on the outskirts of Sofia. In 1979, this building was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
• National Museum of History - Finally, the tour includes a visit to the National Museum of History. This museum, the largest in Bulgaria, was established on May 5, 1973. A new representative exhibition was inaugurated in the Court of Justice building on March 2, 1984, to celebrate the 13th centenary of the Bulgarian state. In 2000, the museum was relocated to the former primary residence of the dictator and last communist leader Todor Zhivkov in Boyana. It currently houses over 650,000 items related to archaeology, fine arts, history, and ethnography, although only 10% are on permanent display.
