- The Grand Palace - Located in the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was the official residence of Thai monarchs from King Rama I to King Rama V during the Rattanakosin era. Today, it serves as a ceremonial site for royal events and welcomes state guests and foreign dignitaries. The palace also housed the remains of kings and senior royal family members before their cremations. The Grand Palace is divided into two main areas: the sacred Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the royal residential quarters.
- Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) - The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) houses the Emerald Buddha, one of Thailand’s most revered religious icons. Carved from a single block of jade, this small yet powerful statue symbolizes the spiritual heart of Thai Buddhism and the country’s deep devotion and royal heritage.
- Wat Phra Chetuphon - Wat Pho, also known as Wat Phra Chetuphon, is located just behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and is a must-see for first-time visitors to Bangkok. As one of the largest temple complexes in the city, it is famous for its impressive 46-meter-long Reclining Buddha, beautifully covered in gold leaf. Wat Pho is also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Chao Phraya River - Embark on the Heritage Boat of Ayutthaya for a Chao Phraya River cruise.
- Royal Barges National Museum - Enjoy a sightseeing glimpse of the Royal Barge Museum (no stop).
- Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan - Known as the Temple of the Bells, Wat Rakhang was originally constructed in the late 18th century during King Rama I’s reign. During its construction, a bell was discovered on the grounds. King Rama II later moved this bell to Wat Phra Kaew, located just across the river, and gifted five new bells to Wat Rakhang in its place. Today, bells remain a central feature throughout the temple.
- Temple Of Dawn (Wat Arun) - Wat Arun, also known as Wat Chaeng, is situated on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River and stands as a prominent landmark temple. Renowned for its stunning riverside location and unique architectural style, it sets itself apart from other temples in Bangkok. Often referred to as the ‘Temple of Dawn,’ Wat Arun enchants visitors with its vibrant spires adorned with colorful decorations, creating a majestic silhouette against the water.

- Please follow the dress code while visting the temples in Bangkok.
- For Men: Tops: Wear shirts or t-shirts that cover your shoulders. Avoid tank tops or sleeveless shirts. Bottoms: Wear long pants. Shorts, especially those above the knee, are generally not allowed. Shoes: Comfortable footwear is fine, but you may need to remove your shoes before entering certain areas.
- For Women: Tops: Wear tops that cover your shoulders and avoid revealing necklines. Sleeveless tops are not appropriate unless covered by a shawl or scarf. Bottoms: Long skirts or trousers are ideal. If you wear a dress or skirt, ensure it extends below the knees. Shoes: As with men, shoes will often need to be removed before entering temple buildings.
- General Tips: Cover Tattoos: If you have tattoos, particularly of religious symbols, cover them as a sign of respect. Scarves/Shawls: Keep a light scarf or shawl handy in case you need to cover up your shoulders or arms. Avoid Bright/Flashy Clothing: Stick to neutral or subdued colors. Bright or flashy attire may be seen as inappropriate. Check Individual Temple Rules: Some temples, like Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), have stricter dress codes, and you may be required to rent or purchase appropriate clothing at the entrance.
