Absolutley Brilliant Day out - Amazing escape room. Prison Officers played their role superbly. The puzzles were just the right level and the tips given enough that you could move on without giving the whole game away. I have also been locked in The Hole. Very different but equally as excellent. Great value for money you also get to tour the prison on your own or upgrade for a guide. This was still fascinating even on the the second visit. All the staff were super friendlly. I would not hesitate to recommend Shepton Mallet Prison and the escape rooms for a great day out. My only commment is: Please design another escape room, the surroundings are incredible. Do it and I'll be there :-)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Brilliant and Unexpected Find! - We stopped at Shepton Mallet Prison on our way back from Cornwall and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip! We did the cell escape room as a group of 2 adults and 2 children — it was absolutely brilliant! Challenging, atmospheric, and full of excitement. Will, our host, was fantastic — fun, engaging, and an incredibly talented actor. His passion for the prison and its history really brought the experience to life, and his knowledge seemed endless! He truly made the experience unforgettable. All of the staff were so kind and welcoming, and clearly love what they do. We had some great conversations about the prison’s fascinating past. We chose the self-guided tour, which was great — being able to explore the prison freely added to the eerie authenticity of the place. That said, the guided tour sounded incredible, and I do wish we’d had time to do it. Next time for sure! This place was a real hidden gem — a brilliant mix of history, entertainment, and atmosphere. Brilliant - Great escape cell ... friendly staff. Georgina was a fab officer and made it fun when we got out in cell and very helpful too. Family friendly ... great fun

Most enjoyable, helpful & friendly staff, we thought good value, would certainly pay another visit when in the area. - Georgina, our jailer, played her part to perfection,however, when struggling with some of the clues, came to our assistance ( much appreciated). After being released from our sentence she kindly offered to take our photos & showed us a couple of areas we were particularly interested in , as we were short of time. Thank you.

Brilliant Family Experience - We visited Shepton Mallet Prison for the escape room experience and it was absolutely fantastic! We had three children with us (ages 14, 10, and 9) and they all loved it. They were fully engaged and able to get involved helping to solve the puzzles alongside us. The prison itself is incredibly atmospheric and really adds to the experience. Georgina our prison guard was amazing. She played the character so well and gave just the right amount of guidance when we needed it and made the whole experience even more fun. After we escaped we were able to have a look around the prison, which was really interesting. The ladies on reception were so lovely and welcoming and answered all our questions. A brilliant day out for families with older children. We’ll definitely be recommending it to friends!

Our first experience of an escape room! - If you have never done an escape room you need to go to the prison! This was our first experience and it was brilliant. Amy was a fantastic prison guard, and the rest of the staff made it such a good day!

- We’ve just come out of the Cell Escape Room , we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND !! Any and Tia were absolutely amazing - in role all the way through and added massively to the experience. We failed to escape! - We realised Escape rooms are not our family forte despite the many helpful hints we got from our prison guard Georgina!!! Afterwards we were able to look around the whole prison ourselves. There was so much to see and read of interest that a guided tour would have been a welcome addition to our day.

A different experience but frustrating (failed) escape - An average escape room extra points for the experience of being in a real prison cell which did add an element of fun. The room controller took their role of prison officer very seriously and played the part well. We had issues with our room and an element not working which held us up for a good 10 minutes. When we eventually spoke to the room controller we were told they do that sometimes, maybe these need to be checked before each game so others don’t waste their time. The instructions to tap the pipes lightly was also wrong as when we spoke to the controller we were told to be more forceful and hold the spanner on for a beat too. The room didn’t really flow as well as others we have done. And overall we found elements quite frustrating and didn’t make any sense when being explained at the end after not escaping.
