Join the journey to uncover the forgotten town of Vitozza! Stroll through the stunning city of Sorano and then venture into the concealed paths below to finally arrive at the ancient town of Vitozza, often referred to as the Matera of Tuscany. In this historic town, residents carved their homes into the tuff rock from ancient times and continued to live there until the 18th century. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore some of these homes and wander around the remains of the old castles (Vitozza had three) that overlook the town, gaining insight into how people lived in such a remarkable setting. At the end of the hike, there is an option to enjoy a glass of local wine in a remarkable wine cellar carved into the tuff rock.
