Fabulous! 5* - I’m a seven time return visitor to South Africa but this was my first time in the Port Elizabeth area. My accommodation arranged a day at Addo with Afroventures and I’m delighted with the recommendation. The guide, Sidwell was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I took so many photographs of a range of species and we had special moments watching a Goshawk hunt, kill and eat a lizard, male lions napping (and being harassed) by warthogs, elephants bathing etc etc The vehicle was a clean (and clearly quite new) Toyota Land Cruiser with lots of room for myself and the Italian couple who also joined the group. It was easy to spot and watcg the animals and to take photographs with the blessing of air conditioning. We stopped at the main area for a picnic which was included in the cost and overlooked a waterhole with elephants. We had plenty of time to experience the underground hide to watch yet more elephants. Best game drive ever!

Amazing safari experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I live in Sedgefield on the Garden Route, so visiting Port Elizabeth (now Gqeberha) and Addo Elephant National Park had been on my wish‑list for years. In December I finally booked an Addo day trip with Afroventures and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my travels. As a solo traveler it can be daunting to self‑drive in a reserve you’ve never visited before. Afroventures organised everything – our guide, Kagisho, collected me from my accommodation in Port Elizabeth on time and made sure everyone felt welcome. The company’s website emphasises that they specialise in Addo safaris and that their local guides are “expertly trained” and focused on personalised, off‑the‑beaten‑track. That description proved spot on. Kagisho’s knowledge of the park’s history, wildlife and plants kept us entertained and informed throughout the day. His respectful driving and keen eye meant we saw so much more than we would have on our own. Booking a guided safari can seem like an indulgence, but Afroventures adds real value. Their tours are hassle‑free; they fetch you from your accommodation and organise park entry, lunch and drinks. Addo Elephant National Park lives up to its reputation. The roads are good, the facilities are clean, the wildlife is abundant, and the scenery is spectacular. Afroventures took the stress out of logistics and provided an engaging guide in Kagisho who clearly loves what he does. As a first‑time visitor from a small Garden Route town, I could not have asked for a better introduction to the Eastern Cape’s wildlife. I highly recommend Afroventures to anyone considering a trip to Addo – they make this world‑class reserve even more special.

A fun safari experience! Highly recommended. - Addo Elephant National Park is absolutely breathtaking, and this tour was perfectly organized from start to finish. We were lucky enough to see a large number of elephants up close, even babies. We also saw zebras, warthogs, antelopes, jackals, mongoose, Guinea hens, ostrich, and birds. We saw a male lion but he was far away. Our guide John was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the park, sharing fascinating insights about the animals and conservation efforts throughout the day. He kept tabs on which animals were spotted where in order to maximize our experience. He also took close up pictures through binoculars to share with us. Ask for John when booking. You won’t be disappointed. The scenery was beautiful, and the pace of the safari felt relaxed and unhurried, allowing us to truly enjoy each sighting. We enjoyed a delicious lunch in the park restaurant.

Great tour - Amos was a great tour guide for the day. We loved every minute of it. Good vehicle and managed to see everything but rhinos. Met at the Addo Spar which was fine to leave our car for the day. Highly recommended tour and guide

An amazing opportunity to see elephants up close - We had an amazing day. We had done safari park experiences at Durban and Kenya and seen a variety of an animals but nothing compared to this trip. We got so close to the animals especially the elephants and that was all down to our driver and his experience with knowing where to go The Braii far exceeded our expectations too Worth every penny
