The Long March to Freedom - After being picked up from the hotel by a professional tour guide, visitors will be transported to “The Long March to Freedom,” which has relocated from Pretoria to its new home in Century City, Cape Town. This exhibit is part of a larger development featuring over 500 life-size bronze statues representing South Africa’s struggle for freedom. Together, these figures illustrate a timeline of the country’s 350-year journey to democracy. It is the largest outdoor display of individual sculptures globally, using public art to honor the nation’s heritage and offering visitors a unique and engaging way to learn about South African history.

Robben Island Museum - The second part of the trip includes a ferry ride to Robben Island, with the entire journey, including the prison tour, lasting 3 to 4 hours. The tour guide will not accompany visitors, as Robben Island Museum provides its own guides, many of whom are former political prisoners. Here are some lesser-known facts about Robben Island:
- While Robben Island is famous for being where former South African President Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 of his 27 years, it also housed prisoners from outside South Africa, notably from Namibia.
The island is home to many free-roaming African Penguins. After the tour, visitors will be returned to their hotel.
-
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - Visitors can enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant in the Victoria and Alfred Mall or indulge in some shopping. Located in South Africa’s oldest working harbor, this 123-hectare (300-acre) area has been developed for mixed-use, featuring both residential and commercial properties. The Waterfront attracts over 23 million visitors annually.
