Bo-Kaap, predominantly a Muslim area, is home to the oldest mosque in the Western Cape and is a hub for Cape Malay cuisine and rich culture. • Castle of Good Hope - This bastion fort in Cape Town was constructed in 1652 by the Dutch East India Company as a settlement and refreshment station for ships transporting spices to Europe and East Asia. It is the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa. During the Second Boer War, the fort served as a prison, and the cells remain intact today.
