This tour is an absolute must - This tour is an absolute must — don’t just self‑drive Monument Valley. We did the Navajo guided tour as a family and it was one of the most meaningful experiences of our entire trip. The landscapes are iconic on their own, but having a Navajo guide completely transformed the visit. Our guide shared stories, history, and cultural context that you simply wouldn’t get otherwise, and took us into backcountry areas that are closed to private vehicles. The pace was perfect, the views were spectacular, and the experience felt personal and respectful of the land. Our kids (ages 9, 13, and 16) were fully engaged the entire time, which says a lot. This wasn’t just sightseeing — it was a genuine learning experience that gave us a much deeper appreciation of Monument Valley and Navajo culture. If you’re debating whether the guided tour is worth it: it absolutely is. This was a highlight of our Arizona vacation and something we’ll remember for a long time.

Great way to see Monument Valley - We loved our Backcountry (2.5 hr) tour from Navajo Guided Tour Service! The group was very communicative, Sabrina answered questions before we booked to make sure we got the tour that made the most sense for us, and our driver Sam checked in with our group throughout the drive to tailor the experience. Would highly recommend!

A Full Day trip that is worth every dime. - We were a large hiking group of women on a FULL day tour. Tim's (our guide) home is in the park where multiple generations have lived. We saw the monuments, learned all their names and then he took us to his home, where we went into a Hogan that he and his grandfather moved to this location. Remarkable! His sister gave us a nice weaving demonstration and they had beautiful jewelry we were able to buy at very reasonable prices. After lunch he took us to Mystery Valley outside the main park, where we saw multiple arches, pictographs and petroglyphs. He even played music on his flute.
TIm, while soft spoken, was knowledgable and made sure everyone was informed. His relaxed approach made us comfortable to take our time and explore. I highly recommend the full day tour so you can see all the special things off the main scenic drive.

Tour of Monument Valley - We did a full day 8 hour tour of Monument Valley and the surrounding area. We saw the mittens and many others. After a good lunch we went to another part of the area and saw pictographs, many arches and several ancestral dwellings. Our quide Tim was great. He shared the history of his family and the history of the area. Very informative. It was a great trip which I recommend.

Absolutlely worth the time and money to take this guided tour. - My friend and I took the all day tour. We started in Mystery Valley and then had the tour of Monument Valley. It was amazing. Larry was our tour guide and he took us to some truly amazing places and showed us some unbelievably beautiful sites. He showed us how to take good photos with the panoramic option on our camera. He was very pleasant to be with and was conscientious and worked hard to ensure we were comfortable and had a great time. The included lunch was a delicious Navajo Taco that was served in a friendly family-style environment. We were treated very well and I would highly recommend this tour. This is the second time my friend and I went to Monument Valley and the first time we took a tour. It was completely worth the time and money to take the guided tour.

A must-see spot, and a great guided tour - Monument Valley is stunning, vast, and unspoiled. Our guide Sam managed the challenging roads and took us all around. A couple of opportunities to get close to walk around in the huge formations and to visit the home of a Navajo family were especially unforgettable. This is a great time to visit! Alas, international tourism is reduced all over the US. But the hospitality was great and well worth the long but scenic drive to get there.

Access areas of Monument Valley that are off limits to the general public - My wife and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Larry was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to show us the best spots for taking memorable photographs. He brought the valley to life for us and provided us with fascinating and in depth information on Navajo culture and traditions. In addition to visiting iconic spots like the Mittens and John Ford point, this tour also includes areas that are off limits to the general public so it’s a must. Would recommend him and his tour company 100%.

Monument Valley is definitely worth the visit. - Monument Valley is an incredible place. Our tour was wonderful. Timothy was our guide and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We stayed at The View Hotel. Our room overlooked Monument Valley. If you make the trip here be sure to stay At this property.
