Backcountry Tour is more than great scenery - it’s a history experience - We had an amazing time on our tour with Larry, who was thorough, incredibly knowledgeable, and was gracious with his time and insights.

Jeep safari Monument Valley - Brilliant trip. Larry was an amazing guide. He was so interesting and informative. We got to see different areas beyond the standard tourist trail. He showed us where to get the best photos. Would definitely recommend. Great value.

Monument Valley Back Country - What a wonderful way to see how the Navajo people live with the environment not wasting anything. Our driver was great stopping at unique spots not on the 17 mile loop. The roads are rough so I highly recommend taking this tour with Tribal tours. Besides the beautiful spots like The Big Hogan, Sun’s eye, and the petroglyphs we were given lots of information Take the tour. Don’t drive it!!

Outstanding tour and guide - The tour was great, especially thanks to our guide, Comasheena. To learn about the customs and the people the Hogan stop is a must, unless you have a tour guide like Comasheena who was very open about living on reservation and what it is like and how much family plays into their lives. Just seeing the buttes and other rock formations was worth the trip, but the back country was well worth the tour.

Unforgettable Back Country Tour with Navajo Guide - The back country tour is led by a Navaho guide into the private community where we saw families and children tending sheep and working their gardens. We sat in a hogan and learned about these sacred lodges for men and women to live and hold family meetings. The tour mobile drove us to amazing cliffs where the sun poked through the sandstone spreading light and color across the valley. The guides sang Dine songs and told original stories about Navaho land. We met up with a gorgeous horse all saddled up for photos with the incredible background of the formations and setting sunlight. We finished at the main lodge to take pictures of the formations during golden light. Out of all we did on this trip this tour was the most memorable. The guides gave our small group an intimate and unforgettable experience.

Tour is worth the price - I took this tour with Larry being my tour guide. The tour was 2 and a half hours and we were in an open air vehicle. Pro tip- wear sun glasses as the dust in the air is a constant. Larry was awesome. He mixed humor and information in a blend that made our tour special. Some of things he explained to us increased my depth of knowledge and a few factoids surprisingly enlightened me and I was a high school science teacher. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Monument Valley. The vehicle was able to travel.at about 25 mph on the rocky dirt road. A normal sedan can only travel 5-10 mph so it would take much more time to travel the scenic route. Unless you have a high profile 4WD vehicle it is worth paying for a tour.
