Fantastic experience! - This was a fantastic experience and I recommend it to everyone who is traveling in the area. The advantage of a tour is that you get to go to parts of monument valley that driving alone you couldn’t go. The other advantage is that you don’t beat up your vehicle! Our guide John was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He shared the culture, history, and language of his people, and it made the experience rich and rewarding. I would do this again, for sure!!!

Absolutely Incredible! - It had rained heavily the day before our arrival, so the valley road was closed to traffic except for tour vehicles. Fortunately we had reservations for this Incredible tour. Our guide, Steven, was friendly, informative, and entertaining. He was able to discuss the geology of the park, its history, and gave us great insight into Navajo culture. When we arrived we were told that due to the condition of the roads we would be unable to do the backcountry portion of the tour. Steven said to make up for this he would allow us more time at each stop and allow us an opportunity to see a traditional hogan. Fortunately, when we arrived at the backcountry road a park official was there to tell us that road conditions had improved so that we could continue the tour. The arches and spires visible in the backcountry is a must see. I Would highly recommend this tour.

Take the guided tour Best tour ever. Everyone who goes to Monument Bally should take it. Guide Joe was excellent - The tour was absolutely worth every penny. Our guide Joe did an awesome job giving details about the landscape and the Indian culture and lifestyle in Monument Valley. The tour leaves from the View Hotel which was very convenient and accessible with no problem. Highly recommend visitors to take a guided tour.

A history of the Navajo people - Our guide, Joe, was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and a very careful driver. Being a Navajo Indian he was able to provide us with the history of the Navajo. He also described what living on the reservation was like. He pointed out the many rock formations and their names.

Monument Valley Guided tours - It was nice, enjoyable and educational. Definitely recommend the guided tours, they take you off the scenic drive to show sights you wouldn't get to see. Only complaint is I paid for 2.5 hour tour and only got 1.5. We departed at 0900 and returned at 1030.
