Simpson’s Trailhandler Tours - This 2.5-hour tour takes you to remarkable sites like the stunning Big Hogan arch, the Sun’s Eye arch, ancient petroglyphs (rock art), the Ear of the Wind arch, the renowned Totem Pole and Yei bi chei rock formations, John Ford’s Point, and many more. You’ll also visit a traditional Navajo Hogan to see the Navajo people preparing wool and showcasing their rug weaving skills!

As the sun sets in the west and stars illuminate the Monument Valley skies, you’ll head to the picturesque Rain God Mesa. Here, Navajo cooks will prepare traditional Navajo tacos with homemade frybread and grill steaks over a campfire. Enjoy your meal in the most magnificent outdoor setting imaginable!

The evening continues with a special Navajo cultural entertainment program. A Navajo dancer, adorned in full regalia, will perform various dances while a master of ceremonies drums, chants, and shares stories by an open campfire under a star-filled Monument Valley sky!

Later, your guide will escort you to your traditional Hogan for the night. The Hogan is constructed from natural materials like desert juniper trees, juniper bark, and dirt plastered over a dome-shaped structure made of juniper logs. As a traditional Navajo Hogan, it lacks electricity and running water. You’ll be provided with a thin mat, a sleeping bag, and a lantern for the night. For added comfort, consider bringing a pillow and extra padding like a camping mat.

The next morning, before sunrise, your guide will take you to a beautiful spot to witness a breathtaking Monument Valley sunrise. Have your camera ready for this awe-inspiring event. After enjoying the sunrise, you’ll return to Rain God Mesa for a Continental-style breakfast. Once breakfast concludes, your guide will escort you back out of the valley to your parked car (approximately 8:00 am).

Our Traditional Hogan Overnight package is an expansive set of activities. It opens with a 2.5-hour evening journey through the iconic landscapes of Monument Valley, taking you through private routes and off-limit areas. A traditional Navajo dinner will be served to you in the heart of the valley near Rain God Mesa after the evening journey, accompanied by a unique entertainment show featuring customary dancing, singing, drumming and storytelling around the warmth of a bonfire. Your night will be spent in a genuine Navajo Hogan. The following morning, our Navajo guide will accompany you on another outing to marvel at the stunning sunrise over Monument Valley. The tour ends with a continental breakfast.
