A truly rad experience! - This was the most fun experience ever. I had never ridden on a UTV before and it was just so rad. Anthony and everyone there went above and beyond at making sure I knew how to ride and knew where to go. 10/10 experience, I’ll be raving about it to everyone I know! The views were insane!

Must Do Activity if you love adventure - It was AMAZING!! Favorite family activity of our Christmas vacation in multiple states. Our guide, RD, got our safety set up, gave great advice, and off we went for an adrenaline filled tour. The scenery and pictures were breathtaking.

Amazing Experience! - Could not have been better! We signed up for a quick 2-Hour guided tour and our guide, Blake, did an exceptional job leading us around Sand Hollow. We were able to see some awesome views, ride trails, rock crawl & ride the sand dunes all within this quick timeframe and were never rushed due to his knowledge of the area. Blake helped us get comfortable operating the RZR first with some quick warm ups and tips for riding on sand. Would highly recomend this experience.

Incredible tour of southern Utah! - What an adventure! Booked 3 UTVs with guides Blake, Rob & Dan and they were amazing. Family voted it top adventure ever. Definitely recommend taking the guides or you won’t see the most incredible parts of southern Utah. They know all the ins and outs of giving their guests the best experience and they did not disappoint. If you take a tour close to sunset, it is amazing but bring a jacket. Temps drop quickly.

Incredible Experience! - We had an awesome time with Mad Moose Rentals! The UTV was crazy fast and a top of the line turbo model. The staff was passionate and knowledgeable about the dunes and machines. They made sure we were comfortable and educated before we took off on our adventure. I would highly recommend Mad Moose Rentals for anyone looking for a thrilling and unforgettable experience!

Book this if you want to have a great experience! - We had a great experience from booking through viator, communication from Mad Moose, and our actual tour. Don was our tour guide and did a fantastic job. He tailored our experience to our interests and driving capabilities. Look for the cowboy hat and the big mac! Recommend 100%.

Awesome overnight guided tour! - What a fantastic experience! I just finished the overnight tour with Mad Moose, it was awesome! They took care of everything, the machines were fantastic, the views and scenery were spectacular, and the guides were great! I went with a group of 35 people for business, I highly recommend this trip as a great teambuilding experience or even just for a family getaway!

Warning ; 1500 hold without warning - I booked this experience a month in advance and had multiple friendly messages from the host beforehand—they asked where I was from, said they were excited, and kept up communication. Not once did they mention anything about a $1,500 hold. Then, less than 24 hours before my scheduled ride, I get a message saying there will be a $1,500 hold placed on my account for potential damages. That was never clearly disclosed during booking, and that kind of last-minute surprise is not okay. It feels intentionally withheld until you’re too close to your reservation to easily change plans. If you look through other reviews, you’ll see I’m not the only one who had an issue with this. The only reason more people aren’t talking about it is because on Airbnb, you have to complete the experience before you can leave a review—so a lot of people don’t have a place to warn others ahead of time. That’s exactly why I’m posting this here on Tripadvisor. Save yourself the headache and go with ROAM Outdoor Adventure Co. instead. Way more transparent, better overall experience, and no last-minute financial surprises. I would not recommend booking here.

Think twice before booking here - We do UTV tours everywhere we travel — it’s literally our thing — and this was by far the worst experience we’ve had with any rental company. We booked through TripAdvisor for a Red Sands tour in Hurricane, Utah. When we arrived, we were hit with a $1,500 “hold” requirement. That alone was shocking — it’s at least 3x higher than any hold we’ve ever encountered, and we’ve done a dozen+ UTV rentals across the country. We questioned it, but were reassured on-site that the hold would be released immediately after returning the vehicle. Based on our past experiences (where holds are released same day or next business day), we agreed and moved forward. That’s where things went sideways. Four days later, the $1,500 still hadn’t been returned. After calling our bank, we were told it was not processed like a typical hold at all — it was run more like a full transaction followed by a refund, meaning we’re now stuck waiting several more days to get our own money back. When we reached out to customer service, we were directed to someone named Courtney, who is apparently off-site and handles issues remotely. The interaction was incredibly frustrating. She spoke over us repeatedly, showed zero willingness to actually listen, and offered no real help other than blaming our bank. No ownership, no accountability, no attempt to resolve anything. To make matters worse: • The “hold” was not even released the same day, despite what we were told • It wasn’t processed until late the following day • And clearly, it wasn’t handled as a true authorization hold to begin with I completely understand why companies require a deposit — that’s standard. What is not acceptable is: • Charging an unusually high amount • Not being upfront about how it’s actually processed • And then failing to properly support your customer when there’s an issue At best, this feels misleading. At worst, it feels like poor internal processes that directly impact customers financially. The only bright spot in this entire experience was our guide, Nick. He was great — professional, friendly, and the only part of this company that lived up to expectations. Bottom line: Between the excessive deposit, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service, I would not recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of other UTV operators in the area — I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
