Great afternoon visiting sea turtles and snorkeling ! - We booked this excursion from celebrity cruises … I’d like to recommend it as the most fun from a boat snorkeling adventure we’ve done and we have done several over the years… we saw awesome sea turtles and many other fish…. Well worth the price (in rum alone…) … great music .. a fun crew … highly recommend!

First time snorkeling, great experience! - It was my first time snorkeling and the water was beautiful on its own. It took me a while to put my face underwater but It was amazing once I did. The staff were great and I enjoyed the little bits of knowledge I gained about their islands and a little history.

Captain Judi, Kayla, and Chloe crewed a great experience. - Boarding the catamaran for this excursion is just a five minute walk from the boat pier. Cptn Judi got through the safety briefing, expeditiously and humorously. Then we are on our way sailing between the smaller areas to see the beachfront properties and resorts, and then off to Buck Island. The trip takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get to the snorkeling area. Luckily, we were visiting in September in the low season so our boat was only half full, which was nice (about 40 passengers - 80 would’ve felt crowded). The crew provides clean quality, snorkeling, gear, and fences with the fogger. There’s no reef-safe sunscreen on board so bring your own (PLEASE be kind to the ocean-reefs in the Caribbean are stressed from chemical sunscreen). On the trip out there’s soft drinks and water available. Snorkeling in addition to the snorkeling here, they provide pool noodles for a gentle easy time and mandatory Tatian vest which actually make the experience more fun. Kayla provided some guidance spotting several sea turtles, feeding on the local sea grass and then took us closer to the island reef where we saw. Fish, blue, headed grass and numerous other species. The coral is not very vibrant given the stresses of entry sea temperatures and chemical sunscreens, but still good viewing of fish life. The little cove where you snorkel is quite calm water so you don’t have to be an excellent swimmer to enjoy yourself. Since we were there in the low season, we were only one of three boats docked at the snorkel site. We counted approximately 10 anchors so on a given day of lots of ships and excursions are booked. You could have up to 800 snorkel collision in this area which might be crowded KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: full face mask snorkel equipment is not permitted even if you bring your own. This is a safety risk due to rebreathing carbon dioxide and the crew will not let you in the water with your own full face mask snorkel gear. We were fine because we read the fine print on our cruise excursion booking information, but several patrons were put out by this. Make the trip enjoyable for everyone and don’t argue with the captain. Once you’re done snorkeling, the crew has rum by punch available. We took a leisurely 35 to 40 minute trip back to the cruise port. overall, it was a really fun experience and would do it again

Great Crew. Respect the Reef - Cptn Judi and crew Chloe and Kayla were great. Judi had a great sense of humor and kept guests informed and safe. Trip out to Buck Island was ~35 minutes. 1 hr of snorkeling where we saw some green sea turtles and about 1/2 dozen varieties of fish. Reef isn’t very vibrant colorwise due to warmer water temperatures and chemical sunscreen damaging coral. But water was calm. DO NOT bring full-face scuba mask as they are NOT ALLOWED due to safety concerns. DO BRING reef-friendly sunscreen or use rash guards to limit environmental impact.

Disappointing - We go snorkeling every time we cruise and this was by far the worst snorkeling excursion we've been on, here is why: 1. The staff were friendly, but otherwise invisible. On most snorkeling excursions, they are enthusiastic, play great music and are full of energy. These folks just seemed like they were doing a job they didn't particularly like. 2. The snorkeling location was not ideal. We saw one sea turtle and two sting rays which was fine but also disappointing. I understand it's not their fault that there weren't more wildlife to see, but I feel that it was due to the location they chose. 3. The second beach we went to was extremely rundown and in need of maintenance. We honestly didn't even want to be there. 4. The rum punch is always a huge hit with the excursion group, but this rum punch didn't taste good and no one seemed to want it.
