Great experience,... - Great experience, fantastic Guides! Definitely recommend! I recommend take the first bus if you also want to do the soweto trip. I took the 12:20 bus at rosebank and took no food stops just did the soweto trip and the day was finished. Took the last bus at 16:30. But if your plan is just sightseeing then Definitely go for it!!!!!!

SOWETO extension is a must! - Rideshare may drop you off a block away based on the GPS. It’s one block up, easy to find in a neat area with shops. SOWETO extension is incredible with Happy as the tour guide. Local guides and a close up view of the pain from which the city was forged.

Soweto the gem of Johannesburg - I wish we had done this sooner on our trip!!! Soweto was the gem of Johannesburg for us, we loved the vibrant, community vibes of this beautiful township. Happy our guide, was knowledgeable, fun and interactive with the guests throughout. Giving first hand knowledge of the area and showing a true pride and love for Soweto. The market had some beautiful gifts at very reasonable prices and the sellers truly seemed to appreciate any help through a purchase you could give. A must for anyone visiting Johannesburg. I’d love to come back.

Good value and an easy way to see Joburg - This was surprisingly good. Drivers were friendly, buses ran to schedule, and the tracking system worked well. The places the bus visits aren’t always easily accessible so it’s a good option. Tip: if you want to visit some of the places on the tour it’s worth planning in advance and starting early

Great way to see more of the city than you would just exploring by yourself - A big bright red tourist bus is more or less the last thing I usually feel myself associating with, being a steadfast devotee of solo-travel and experiencing things for myself. However in this case I opted for the HOHO Bus because I knew I wouldn't drive my rental car through CBD or Soweto, and I didn't regret it for a second. The commentary is good, non-intrusive over the headphones (many languages available), although I very much suggest you bring your own headphones - they provided ones are one-use terrible quality ones, mine didn't even properly work on both earbuds unless I pulled the cord taught. The highlight for me (others seem to agree) was the Soweto extension, so I suggest getting that. It was just me and one women on the Soweto bus, but even with more people it would still feel a lot more personal that the rest of the tour because you have actual guides there instead of the audio commentary. We didn't walk around much at all, which I think is normal but maybe was enforced by the rainy weather. Our guides were Keamogetswe (Kea) and for a short part Thabang, with driver Vincent. Particularly our main guide Kea was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, very personable and made this into a real experience. The only thing I did not appreciate was that the guides directly connected us some of the tourist souvenir vendors. While I do understand the need to hustle to make a living and that it's a way to get tourist money into the population, I suggest leaving it up to the tourist to either engage or not engage with the stands, rather than basically introducing them to the hawkers (probably for a commission).
