Kruger National Park - Embark on an early morning Game Drive in a 4x4 Game Drive Vehicle within Kruger National Park. This offers a chance to observe various wildlife, including the Big 5, lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, kudu, zebras, antelopes, and more.
Kruger National Park - Following the game drive, enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Kruger National Park area before setting off on a 5-hour journey to iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, a World Heritage Site.
iSimangaliso Wetland Park - Designated as South Africa’s first World Heritage Site in December 1999, iSimangaliso Wetlands Park is recognized for its exceptional natural beauty and unique global significance. This vast protected area along South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal Province coast features Lake St. Lucia, home to numerous hippos, crocodiles, pelicans, and flamingos.
Upon arrival at iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, check into your accommodation before embarking on a Hippo and Croc Boat Cruise in the St Lucia Estuary.
Day 3 begins with a game drive in iSimangaliso Wetlands Park after breakfast, followed by a trip to Durban

Expect to encounter a wide variety of animals, including some of the Big 5 such as elephants, rhinos, zebras, buffalos, kudus, giraffes, antelopes, and more. Enjoy the bush setting with diverse tree species.
After the game drive, head to Durban, with an optional lunch stop along the way.
Durban - Arrive in Durban in the late afternoon. Known as South Africa’s Surf City and part of the greater eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, Durban proudly features its Golden Mile—a stretch of some of the safest swimming beaches in South Africa. Since 2010, the Golden Mile’s view includes the impressive Moses Mabhida Stadium, with a winding brick-paved promenade extending north to Blue Lagoon and south to Addington Beach. Durban’s beachfront promenade is frequented by early morning joggers, cyclists, pram-pushing parents, dog-walking seniors, and city dwellers who enjoy the fresh, salt-laden morning breeze. In Durban, visitors can explore the beaches, stroll along the promenade, or simply relax at the hotel. The Victoria Market in the city center and the Moses Mabhida Stadium are also worth visiting.
Day 4 involves traveling from Durban to the Drakensberg Mountains after breakfast, with a stop at Howick Falls
Howick Falls - After a drive of just over an hour, passing Pietermaritzburg, reach Howick Falls. The view from the top of Howick Falls is particularly inspiring, with the mesmerizing cascade of water. The waterfall plunges 95 meters into a turbulent pool, regarded by local Zulus with deep superstition and believed to be the dwelling place of ancestral spirits.
Nelson Mandela Capture Site - A short distance from Howick Falls, visit the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, also located in Howick. Nelson Mandela was arrested on August 5, 1962, outside Howick, Natal, South Africa, and spent the next 27 years in prison. The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this historical moment with a visitor center and a renowned sculpture.
Drakensberg Mountains - From the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, travel through the picturesque Midlands Meander area, with its beautiful valleys and hills, en route to the Drakensberg. Arrive at the Drakensberg by midday and embark on a hiking adventure. The hike can range from 2 to 4 hours, depending on fitness level and preference. The Drakensberg region is extraordinary, with its dramatically beautiful setting. This region is home to the awe-inspiring mountain range, predominantly located in the KwaZulu-Natal Province. The Drakensberg Mountain range spans over 200 kilometers, combining rugged peaks with lush valleys and stunning backdrops. It forms a natural border between the kingdom of Lesotho and the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Upon arrival, enjoy a hike in the Drakensberg Mountains, lasting 2 to 4 hours based on individual fitness levels. Overnight accommodation will be in the Drakensberg Region.
On Day 5, after breakfast, depart from the Drakensberg and head to Durban, en route to the South Coast
Port Shepstone - Travel from the Drakensberg to Durban. From Durban, journey along the South Coast N2 route and stop for lunch in Port Shepstone. As one of the largest towns on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, Port Shepstone is a popular tourist destination offering a variety of attractions and activities. It boasts pristine sandy beaches with warm waters rich in marine life. After lunch, take a tour of Port Shepstone and visit the beaches for a swim.
Travel from Mount Ayliff to Mthatha and then to East London
East London - East London is a city on the Indian Ocean, located in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. It is renowned for its beaches, such as Nahoon and Cove Rock, making it a popular tourist destination.
Upon arrival in East London, check into your hotel before exploring the beaches and relaxing.
East London to Port Alfred to Port Elizabeth to Jeffreys Bay
Port Alfred - After breakfast, depart from East London and head to Port Alfred, one of South Africa’s most beautiful coastal towns. In Port Alfred, visit the Kowie River, watch boat rides, and even participate in the rides—optional extra. Depart from Port Alfred after lunch and proceed to Port Elizabeth.
Port Elizabeth - Known as the “Friendly City,” Port Elizabeth is situated on the southeastern coast, 763 km east of Cape Town. It offers excellent value for a holiday, with a diverse selection of attractions as a family-friendly destination, including scenic nature trails, historic heritage, magnificent wildlife, cultural experiences, and numerous water sports activities.
Visit the beaches in Port Elizabeth before continuing to Jeffreys Bay for the night.
Jeffreys Bay - Jeffreys Bay is a popular tourist destination known for its surfing opportunities and Blue Flag beach.
Jeffreys Bay is famous for its abundant seashells, delicious seafood, and calamari. The nearby Kabeljous, Seekoei, and Krom River lagoons host numerous water birds and are ideal for watersports like canoeing, boardsailing, and fishing. Each year, migrating whales travel to Hermanus and Witsand to give birth, and whales can be seen breaching almost daily during the season.
Jeffreys Bay to Tsitsikamma National Park to Bloukrans Bridge to Plettenberg Bay to Knysna
Bloukrans Bridge - Depart from Jeffreys Bay and travel further along the coast, passing charming coastal towns and picturesque estuaries. Drive through the stunning Tsitsikamma National Park. Before reaching Plettenberg Bay, the Bloukrans Bridge spans a deep ravine, home to the world’s highest bungee jump, standing at 216 meters. Stop at the viewpoint to admire this spectacular site, with an optional bungee jump.
Plettenberg Bay - Continue the tour from Bloukrans Bridge to Plettenberg Bay, or “Plett” as it is affectionately known. Make an optional lunch stop in Plettenberg Bay and take a brief tour. Then proceed to Knysna, arriving around 1 pm.
Knysna Heads - In Knysna, check into your accommodation. Visit the Knysna Heads, a pair of sandstone cliffs separating the Knysna Lagoon from the sea beyond—a famous landmark along the renowned Garden Route. The eastern head is easily accessible by car and offers many spectacular viewpoints overlooking the channel, Indian Ocean, Knysna Lagoon and estuary, and the Outeniqua Mountains.
The Waterfront Knysna Quays - Also visit the Knysna Quays Waterfront to watch the sunset and enjoy drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. The Waterfront is a laid-back extension of Knysna, offering a scenic view of the harbor with numerous yachts. A variety of dining options, from cafes to fine restaurants, allows for a leisurely 2-3 hour visit. You can also book rides on the lagoon on a fast boat. As with any tourist spot, there are plenty of shops offering trinkets and souvenirs.
Knysna to Benguela Cove Wine Estate to Hermanus
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate - On Day 9, after breakfast, set off for Hermanus. The major stop is at Benguela Cove Wine Estate, where a world-class wine tasting is organized. Benguela Cove Wine Estate is a specialist producer and wine destination in Walker Bay, located in the Western Cape between Cape Town and Hermanus. Each person gets to taste 5 different wines.
Hermanus - From Benguela Cove Wine Estate, continue to Hermanus, arriving in the afternoon. In Hermanus, visit the beaches and the new harbor. During whale season, there are numerous opportunities to spot whales from the many vantage points along Hermanus’ elevated rocky coastline, considered the best land-based viewing point in the world for whale-watching.
The final day of the tour begins after breakfast with a visit to some of the beaches in Hermanus
Cape Town - Afterwards, embark on the journey to Cape Town, driving along the coast. This part of the route is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, white sandy beaches, majestic mountains, rich plant diversity, and excellent wines. During whale season, there are several opportunities to spot whales from the numerous vantage points along Hermanus’ elevated rocky coastline, considered the best land-based viewing point in the world for whale-watching. Traveling along the scenic coast road with its most breathtaking vistas is a delight. Viewpoints are located every 200 meters, perfect for capturing photographic memories to share back home.
