Wines of Tenerife - A Full Day Wine and Dine Adventure
We had a great 9 hour Tenerife wine immersion // Our guide did a great job going over the history of wine in the Canary Islands // The 2 wineries visited were very representative of the wines of the region // La Laguna was fun to visit // Very well done tour //

Only with food tasting could be better, main course could use a little more sauce. Mmmdessetd could be better and i - Super, food nice, but the tasting of the second wine with food could be different
Food itself was tasty but the main course could use extra sauce
Dessert I think was a failure, was nice but not according to my taste
Coffee or tea no time for

Value for money and good tour - Value for money and everything went smoothly. Wines were ok. I recommend this tour if you want to make things easy for you and just book a day where every activity is already planned. Interesting to learn more about the wines of Tenerife. A good bonus was that we stopped for 1 1/2h in San Christobal de la Laguna.

Great Tour Experience! - Wine tasting & vineyard tour.
This tour was excellent value for money in our opinion. Pick up was arranged close to our accomodation. We had an hour or so at La Laguna which was really nice. Then onto 1st wine tasting which included some local cheeses and a short film about the history of the winery. Then a 5 min drive and it was onto a 2nd winery and lunch with more wine tasting. Lunch was good and relaxed in a lovely restaurant. Following that a short tour of the vineyard and an explanation of wine making process. Back on the bus and back to accomodation. The drive back took a little long due to heavy traffic.. but the tour organisers can not be held responsible for that!
The guide on the tour was very good.

Well organised and a great day. - Lovely trip to the north of the island to visit to wineries. Nice stop on the way at Laguna. Our guide Christopher and our driver were excellent. Christopher was so informative about the islands and places along the way. Very jovial and good recommendation for coffee in Laguna.
The wine tasting and cheese pairing were very good. Couldn’t fault the meal at the second winery, which had accompanying wines.
All in all definitely worth going.

Great day out. Some tweaks would further improve it - Staying on the south of the island, we were keen to find a tour which showed something of the north, and with wine and food involved, and this tour was a great find.
As others have said, it is likely a very long day/early pick up depending on where your hotel is. Having been on other tours during the fortnight, this seems par for the course with Tenerife traffic, where it takes about an hour to travel across the south in rush hour, and 1-2 hours to travel north along the TF motorway, but as long as you account for this in your day, Viaje Teide did a good job. We were picked up at 7.15am as one of the earlier pick ups, and arrived at the first tour stop appx 9.20am. It's worth noting you can't eat on the bus, so nab breakfast beforehand (or at the first stop)!
Iskra was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide, as well as organised, many thanks. Information in our case given in English and Spanish throughout the whole tour based on the languages spoken by attendees.
Of the three stops, visiting the old capital of San CrÃstobal de La Laguna for 40 mins was brilliant. Free time- we wandered, had a coffee and look around. Option for paid entrance to the churches if you wish.
The first winery at El Sauzal (Casa del Vino) was also excellent. A short 7 min film about the role of the Canaries in wine history, then tasting of three wines mixed with cheese. We bought a bottle of the rosé.
The second visit (Bodega Monje) was much more mixed. Firstly was a lunch in their restaurant, followed by a winery tour. The lunch was decent and clearly aimed to showcase bits of Canarian cuisine. Calling it 4-5 courses is very misleading (one being a roll and dips, and one being coffee, for example). It's a decent 3 course meal, with 2 glasses of wine (white and rosé) served during. While they introduced that (e.g) the white was one of their dry white varieties, this was before the wine tour, so it was hard to match to the range of what the wine tour guide later discussed. Tellingly, no one from the group bought anything from the gift shop at Bodega Monje (nor was there really chance to), which seemed like a missed opportunity when taking a group of wine-fans to a winery. I would have rathered skip the two glasses of wine until after the meal and during the tour, or at least had chance to know which wines we were tasting. Given that we finished the tour at 2.30pm and started driving southbound at that stage, it feels like there would have been room to add that extra 10 minutes (although admittedly this early departure is needed for some south western hotels to return by 5pm).
Overall, a good day

great tour but ridiculous pick up time - We loved the wine tasting and the meal was amazing but we were picked up from our hotel at 7:15 am and then went via many other hotels to collect guests before passing our hotel again en route to the first visit point. We arrived at the first visit point at 11:45 a journey of less than an hour from our hotel. That was disappointing

Please don’t waste your hard earned money and holiday time on this tour. - I only gave this 1 star as 0 isn’t an option. Our tour guide didn’t tell us anything about the island as we travelled around for multiple pick up points and then dropped others off at the port for other trips. Once we were finally on our way, all he told us (many times) was about the airports and why there are 2; nothing about the island other than the devastating aircraft crash that is the reason for the second airport. It is titled 2 Winery visits, it isn’t. We went to one place that sold wine and tasted 3 wines, but no explanations on any of them and the whole process was rushed. Then we went to the winery for lunch. The lunch was not 4 courses and came with one white and one red wine. None of the food was explained and there was no further wine tasting, but the option to purchase other products and wines that we couldn’t taste. At no point did the guide interact with us at lunch, he sat on a table and ate and drank wine. The tour around the winery was very good and run by a young girl from the vineyard family. It was the best part of the day. The main guide was just a loud mouthed joker.
Please don’t waste your hard earned money and holiday time on this tour. If you want a wine tasting experience, book it privately with the vinyard.
