You’ll explore several monasteries, including Varlaam and Great Meteoron (or similar), and have the opportunity to learn about their rich history and significance. After visiting Meteora, you’ll begin your journey back to Athens. Leonidas Monument - Before reaching Athens, you’ll stop at Thermopylae to admire the statue of Leonidas, the site of the famous battle between the Greeks and the Persians.
