Constructed by the fascinating Roman emperor Diocletian, it is aptly named Diocletian’s Palace. Exploring the Palace’s streets in small groups is a wonderful way to honor the residents and their rich history. The ancestors of the locals lived in the Palace area over a millennium ago, creating a remarkable fusion of ancient, medieval, and modern architecture, along with unique and vibrant living traditions that are still cherished today. Joining this tour offers an excellent introduction to the daily life of Splićana (the people of Split). Accompanied by local guides, who are native to Split, participants will have the privilege of walking the same paths once trodden by the Roman emperor Diocletian.
- Green Market - It’s well-known that the way to a Dalmatian’s heart is through their stomach, so one of the initial stops is the renowned Green Market of Split. Here, participants will meet local vendors, and the guides will share insights into how locals shop at the Green Market. The local guides will introduce traditional and authentic foods and share the stories behind them. Visitors can make a wish at the golden toe of Gregory of Nin (Grgur Ninski), learn about the majestic Hajduk, Split, and understand why this name is prevalent from the suburbs to the old town. The royal adventure continues in the grand residence of Emperor Diocletian. His enormous palace is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to many but also a favorite spot for locals and the cast of The Game of Thrones. A tour you don't want to miss - This was my first ever urban adventure and I was in for a treat. From the moment we met, throughout the entire trip, Mirjana made me feel at home in her city. Not only was she a wealth of information, she made the city's past and present come alive through her engaging stories.

As local as it gets - Amazing afternoon with Mirjana! Started from the Riva (promenade) and made our way through busy streets of Split, squinchy yet easily navigable to the main sights! Admired to the stories of the past - Roman Emperors and did I mention the Sphynx?! Afterwards we swooped to the Green market within the walking distance and got ourselves local snacks, cheese, olives and grapes - worthy the nectar of gods! Highly recommendable for an easy Split immersion experience!

Fun, fun, fun!! - Amazing tour, beautiful and fun guide Mirjana and most of all, amazing city! I do wish she talked more about a local football club Hajduk but I guess i was the only one interested in that part of Split history. Again, do your self a favor and book this tour because it’s the most fun thing my friends and me did in Europe this year!

Story of Split - They say "It's about the journey, not about destination", and what a journey it was! An absolute pearl to our trip of Dalmatian coast was a sightseeing tour of Split. Guide Mirjana was the best I've ever experienced, full of interesting facts that were shared through amazing stories.

Amazing tour - I would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to learn a lot about city history and how people live in Split. I did a tour with Mirjana and it was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and fun and really makes you to love the city through her passionate story telling.

Amazing tour, superb guide! - The tour I was on with Mirjana was one of the best tours I've been on. She has great local knowledge, loads of inside tips, and many recommendations of things you can do in your spare time. Her love for the city is obvious, and her willingness to share is amazing. I would gladly be on one of her tours again!

LOVED IT! - I am so happy I have decided to book this tour as it was one of the best guided walks I had. Mirjana was just amazing, she is so enthusiastic to show her hometown and seeing it through her eyes is just magnificent! She is in love with Split and she is transfering that love to her guests. We tried several local delicacies and learned so much! Definitely big recommendation!

Among the best city tours in my life - I got on the tour after a recommendation by the Dubrovnik Urban Adventures team. And Lord, I wasn't disappointed!
It was 8 of us and we had sooo much fun. We learned so much and yet it wasn't boring for even a second. Food was great and the stories around it made all the tastings even tastier.
All in all, go there, do that! You won't be sorry.

Taste of Split - Absolutely amazing experience! We visited local green market early in the morning while it was vibrant with locals. We tried home made soparnik from one lady, and two types of cheese and sauerkraut from another. It was perfect intro into getting to know Split and its soul full of life. Later we explored Diocletian's palace and its substructures. The tour lasted just short of 2 hours, perfectly timed. I need to mention that based on this experience, we also did UA Dubrovnik history and Game of Thrones tour, and loved it! Thank you Mirjana!
