Perfect tour for all Game of Thrones fans visiting Croatia. Spend 2h with a local guide, also a true fan of the famous series, exploring the streets of Split which were once changed into the amazing world of Meereen. On this fun tour, you will hear about the real history of Split with a special accent on those exact places where the famous series was shot. This GoT walking tour covers the area of the centre of Split town, Diocletian’s cellars, Golden gate, Vestibul etc. Knowledgeable local guide, also a true fan of the series, will take you through the street of Split showing you where different scenes were shot. You’ll wander the cellars wherein the fourth season the Meereenese slaves lived and you’ll walk the streets where they ran, you’ll see where Daenerys kept her dragons in season five, enter the corridor where the Sons of the Harpy waited for the Unsullied and walk through the streets where the Unsullied Army patroled.

Good way to learn about Split - We got our GoT Geek fix while learning about the city. It is a great tour to do on a very hot day as you are indoors for the majority of the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable (both GoT and Split) and friendly and was very much willing to adjust things according to his crowd.

Outstanding Game of Thrones Tour with Mate in Split! - This tour was absolutely fantastic! Mate’s knowledge was genuinely impressive — not just about Game of Thrones filming locations, but also the deeper lore, author insights, and even the most intriguing fan theories about the books still to come. It felt like getting an insider’s look into both the show and the literary world behind it.
What really surprised me was how much I learned about the history of Split itself along the way. Mate seamlessly connected the fictional world of Westeros with the real ancient world of Diocletian’s Palace, making every stop feel rich with meaning.
He was patient, engaging, and more than happy to take photos for us. You could tell he truly cared that we were having a great time — and he genuinely appreciated our enthusiasm in return. His pride in his country, roots, and traditions added such warmth and authenticity to the experience.
I’d do this tour again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves Game of Thrones, the books, or simply wants to explore the magic and history of Split through an unforgettable guide.

Split tour - Tour was excellent with some interesting information on both Split and Game of Thrones. Getting to see the basement in the palace as part of the tour was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our guide’s expertise.

Great tour!!! - Oliver was terrific! First off, he was proud of his job, his city and seemed to have a real passion for the work which was both palpable and contagious. He gave great history facts without being overwhelming, had personal stories as well which I appreciated and inserted GOT facts and pictures throughout the tour. It was good for both GOT fans (my husband) and for those who have never seen a single episode (me). I recommend Oliver and his tour wholeheartedly.
I had issue finding the meeting spot and the tour facilitator was not helpful nor did she care.

Wonderful afternoon tour with best tour guide! - We did the tour with the fantastic Mate and we were lucky enough to be just my husband and I. Mate is an amazing and passionate guide, you can tell how much of a fan he is but also, how proud is of his city, culture and history. Fun fact: he is a history professor too! We had a great time visiting and identifying the places the series was filmed but most importantly, we had the pleasure of knowing a little more about Split thanks to Mate. Go and take the tour with him you won’t regret it!

Great tour. Mate was a fantastic guide. 100% recommend. - My husband and I went on this tour a couple of days ago. Mate was our guide. He was really engaging and made the tour highly enjoyable & entertaining. My husband and I both loved GoT and really enjoyed finding out about where parts of the programme were shot. We also appreciated Mate's historical knowledge which gave another element to the tour. Mate was an excellent guide and we both really enjoyed this tour. I would 100% recommend.

Game of Thrones walking tour- Fantastic! - We went on the Game of Thrones walking tour with Mate. It ended up being just us on the tour and we had an amazing time. Mate was great and was full of knowledge about the history of Split and the surrounding area. He obviously was well versed in Game of Thrones and showed us all the filming locations and explained everything. My wife and I had a fantastic night walking the streets of the palace, the night tour was perfect because it was so much quieter and the pictures we were able to get were great. We would 100% recommend the tour and hopefully you get Mate because he made the tour even better!

Great tour for exploring the town for a couple hours - The tour itself along with the tour guide was brilliant, but the short blonde woman who checked me in was so rude and unwelcoming. If you’re coming from the UK and are on O2 network, for some reason O2 doesn’t cooperate in Croatia. So nothing on my pnone was working apart from being able to make a phonecall. My maps weren’t connecting and I had no data at all so I had to connect to a cafe wifi and find the number for the tour. I called the number for the tour location and the name on the store was different from what Get Your Guide had written. She comes outside to find me and scoffs because I was lost and starts complaining in Croatian (doubt she was saying anything polite to her colleague) this was infront of other people taking the same tour too waiting for it to begin. Not very welcoming for a solo traveller. The tour guide himself was LOVELY and gave such a clear and entertaining tour and description of all the monuments we saw. Not only did he show and explain facts from GOT, but also showed us parts of the town where some celebrities have visited, and by perfect timing we got to witness the performance in diocletians palace they do at 12pm!
