Well worth making a dogs day 🐶 - Would definitely recommend this day trip. Staff at dog shelter were really friendly and had answers to everyones questions about the dogs. Did a short group walk where each couple were given a dog to walk , brush & give treats to. Then got to cuddle 4 beagle puppies with plenty of chance for photos.
Next we headed off a short distance for the Greek cookery demonstration by Maria. She is a lovely lady & her pastry making skills were very impressive.
Food served was delicious and there was plenty of it.
Also a mention to Michael who was our guide on the coach and made the whole day lots of fun !

Taste Greece and Make a Dog's Day - What an amazing day! We love dogs and actually booked this experience before we went on holiday and we were really excited about it. We were shocked how full the bus was for the experience - it was really nice to see so many people booking this experience. The dog shelter was amazing. The team are professional and knowledgeable and the dogs are very well looked after. We walked Cookie who was lovely and it was very difficult not to express an interest in taking her home! We then went to Maria's where we were shown how to make 3 traditional dishes and then had these dishes for our lunch. It was an unforgettable day!

The cutest walking activity - Such a lovely idea for any animal lovers. I was a little uncertain about them letting strangers take dogs out but the owners and volunteers show a lot of care for the dogs and match you with a dog to suit your confidence and strength. I had a lovely walk with Ronnie with some beautiful views. You can get there by bus which I didn’t realise until I got there and there are more walking routes if it’s too hot to take the dogs far

Fantastic experience! - I visited here August 2004. What a great couple of hours it was. My partner and I were on holiday in Koukonaries and already had a wonderful Donkey Sanctuary on our doorstep run by a German lady.
We made the decision to visit this beautiful dog rescue centre situated high up in the mountains. On arrival, the two Scottish ladies who own the rescue centre make all volunteer walkers very welcome and assess them as to what size of dogs they would be best suited for walking around the mountain path. We were lucky to have two beautiful dogs named Gary & Chesney. Gary was quite old black Labrador and Chesney looked like a cross whippet. Both were very familiar with the route and showed us the way. Chesney managed to slip his collar off half way round and ran all the way home ahead of us. We donated a large sack of dog biscuits before we left and gave a cash donation too for good measure. Anything you give is greatly appreciated.
Well done to the lovely Scottish ladies who run the shelter. You deserve reward for your efforts.

Oh happy days - We had tour guide Jane and she was lovely. Told us great facts and made us feel welcomed. The dog hike was wonderful, it did get cut short due to being extremely hot but we got to cuddle and grooms dogs after.
Later that we had a wonderful home made dishes made by a native Greek called Maria. She even signed her own cooking book for us which was available to purchase, filled with tasty looking dishes.

Dog walkies followed by a fantastic greek cooking demonstration and lunch! - This was a TUI trip and began with a trip to the dog shelter, Skiathos. Established many years ago now, we were able to take an abandoned puppy or fully grown dog on a guided walk. Great fun!
followed by a visit to Carma restaurant in Agia Paraskevia where Maria gave a demonstration of her homemade Greek cooking and then we got to eat what was demonstrated. Generous portions and a free drink!
Would do again.

A happy experience - It was very hot but I enjoyed the “easy” walk and I felt the dogs were happy to be out too. I felt I served a purpose that day. The animals seem aware that they have to go back and have no hesitation in returning as I assumed might be the case !!
