Great safari with super guide - We were on the leopard safari with Sanka on March 10. He is super friendly and accommodating. We would be picked up on time and received friendly. In front of the gate of the national park we were at the front of the line waiting for the opening, while Sanka asked us how we wanted to make the safari. Of course we wanted to see leopards, if that could be possible. What can I say? 10 minutes in the park, 3 leopards! Sanka has shown us super many animals and given information about him. He has a fantastic eye for finding the animals and he knows Park very well. Even the leopards' running paths. We told him 2-3 more bird species that we really wanted to see. It didn't take me 20 minutes and I had her in front of the camera lens! Perfect experience.

Best safari experience ever! - We had an amazing morning safari. (04/03/2026) Our experienced driver Ish guided us through the National Park. He really tried to be one of the first ones to enter the park which made us to be able to spot the leopard! It was magical. 100% recommend this Safari “ 5-12” leopard safari package.

Successful leopard safari - Great day, our guide Su left no stone unturned until we sighted a leopard. We did see one on the ground at close quarters and have the photos to prove it. Brilliant day.

Got to see a leopard - We were very happy with our Janaka private safari. The jeep arrived on time - the departure is very early, but it does get you to the front of the queue when entering the park. Later on things get very busy. Our driver was also a very able spotter - beats me how they see some of the animals. We saw a large variety of animals and birds, capped off by a lengthy sighting of a leopard. Breakfast was nice as well. Overall, we were very happy with our morning safari.

Amazing experience - Amazing and far beyond our expectations only thanks to our superb guide Ishara. Ishara is not only kind, but he is attentive, he took care to explain the whole safari route when we were waiting for the opening and explained us every step of the way. He is also a true nature enthusiast and knows a lot of details about each of the species that cohabit the park (Buffalo, elephants, leopards, all birds...). The safari itself was a very nice experience for us because we had the immense chance to see 5 leopards during the day including 2 babies very close to us on a road where we were alone. A huge thank you to Ishara, and Janaka Safari for their responsiveness and professionalism.

The absolute best memory of our Sri Lanka holiday - What an incredible safari with Ish and Janaka Safari. Our hopes were high to see léopards and elephants but what we experienced completely blew our minds and this wall all thanks to the most incredible guide ever. Ish went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible, communicating all the time with other safari guides to spot leopards, delivering a world class breakfast, knowing exactly where elephants would show up and even spotting baby leopards. Additionally to being an incredible guide he’s a passionate about nature, taking pictures of them, respecting them, knowing each and every single of them (leopards). Don’t hesitate just book this safari, 100% worth every rupee !!!

Fantastic Morning Safari - We had an amazing morning safari with our driver Su. He shared a lot of interesting information and always treated the animals with great respect. Su didn’t give up, and in the end we were lucky enough to see a leopard – an absolutely fantastic experience. Highly recommended!

We will not recommend Tripadvisor to our loved ones. - It was the first time we took a visit with Tripadvisor and we were very disappointed. The guide for this safari arrived 1 hour 30 minutes late, after sending us a message telling us that he could not pick us up our hotel being too far and this very shortly before the time to leave. The departure time indicated by Tripadvisor for the safari was 4:30 a.m. It arrived at 5:30 a.m. after many discussions, exchanges of messages and the intervention of a person from the hotel. We pointed out to him that we had lost 1 hour and + of safari he replied that he could do nothing. Apparently this man was very angry about our remark (another couple complained) and took us back to our hotel driving dangerously, excessive speed on the road and in the "cities" at the risk of getting us in an accident or hitting someone. We are very disappointed with this service and we do not think we will repeat the experience with you wherever you go.
