A Journey into the Heart of Yala

As a wildlife photographer with a penchant for adventure, I have traversed the African savannas and jungles, capturing the essence of endangered species and working alongside conservationists. Yet, the allure of Sri Lanka’s Yala National Park beckoned me with promises of untamed beauty and wildlife encounters. My journey began at the Hambantota Port, where I met Suranga, our guide and driver, who would lead us into the heart of Yala.

Though no meal was promised, we were treated to refreshing drinks and snacks, including bananas from Suranga’s family garden. Their sweetness was unmatched, a delightful end to our day of exploration.

Returning to the ship, I reflected on the day’s adventures. Yala National Park had exceeded my expectations, offering a glimpse into a world where wildlife thrives and nature’s beauty reigns supreme.
