The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 1,317 square kilometers (131, 693 hectares) and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly one hundred and six lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. A remote camera survey was conducted in Wilpattu from July to October 2015 by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust.

Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. A remote camera survey was conducted in Wilpattu from July to October 2015 by the Wilderness & Wildlife Conservation Trust. A sample of forty nine individual leopards were photo-captured in the surveyed area and the core area density was between that of Yala National Park’s Block I and Horton Plains National Park.

Comfortable jeep

We were able to see elephants, leopards, deer herds, peacocks and other birds.. No complaints.. Excellent service provided.. Definitely go with this company..

Excellent service.. Book with this company.. - Pasidu is an excellent driver.. He has a good eye for wildlife.. He even showed us the animals that were hiding.. Communication was clear.. The six hour journey was very beautiful and meaningful. Saw many animals.. Birds, monkeys, a bear and other animals.. The company has good service.. Recommended..

A day in Wilpattu to see wildlife.. - A comfortable jeep is great for a safari.. The day passed without me noticing.. It was very comfortable.. The driver was great.. He always tries to show the animals and make the trip a success.. I like it.. A quiet and peaceful trip.. I really like it.

A full-day safari experience in Wilpattu - Booked a full day to see the wildlife in Wilpattu.. The company communicated everything clearly from the beginning via WhatsApp.. They responded quickly to all our questions.. It was very well organized. The food was delicious.. Everything was excellent.

A wonderful trip to Wilpattu National Park - It was an interesting trip to see leopards in Sri Lanka.. Wilpattu National Park is perfect for that.. We were lucky enough to see two leopards.. Our driver Pasidu was very good.. He has a lot of knowledge about wildlife.. It was very useful for us. Recommended..

Ok - Not bad.
The driver guide is the only one you can talk to, he is professional, showing us birdbook. I even ask him to identify the bird by sound, he did correctly get it. I was grateful. We saw a lot of animals: crocodiles(very close), foxes, owls, bulls, deers, etc.
Downside: 1. because of rainy day, we couldn't see leapard, but the driver took us to hunt and wait for long time 2. didn't expect so many jeeps
Anyway, not a bad trip, but i will prefer a walking tour to some forests.

Magic - We went on a safari DE 12h. The driver was adorable, he knew the place like this pocket, on the lookout DE each animal, reptile and bird to help us see them. EN addition, we were lucky DE see a leopard. Excellent food

Great safari with wonderful driver - Great tour - the driver worked really hard to help us find animals. We saw a leopard which was the total highlight. Also saw lots of other animals and he was fantastic at finding and pointing them out. He also had some very strong binoculars which he lent us.
Breakfast and lunch was lovely and plentiful!

Amazing safari, highly recommended! - We had a fantastic experience. We were contacted in advance via WhatsApp with clear information about the exact time and the jeep number. We had the half day afternoon safari.
Based on a tip from another review, we asked if a naturalist could join us, and that was no problem at all. It was arranged for a symbolic fee, and it was absolutely worth it. The naturalist added real value – he helped spot animals, shared lots of information, and answered all our questions.
We were lucky enough to see a leopard twice. The first time, we were the only jeep that spotted it, which made the experience feel very private and special – no mass tourism vibe at all.
Wilpattu is definitely worth a visit. It’s peaceful and quiet; at times, it felt like we had the park all to ourselves, which made the safari even more memorable. We also saw a sloth bear, various monkeys, crocodiles, deer, buffalo, and many different bird species.
I can also highly recommend Travceylon Leisure. Communication was smooth, and all my questions before booking were answered promptly and clearly. Don’t hesitate – just book
