Shalimar Bagh - Shalimar Bagh, a Mughal garden built by Emperor Jahangir, was his dream project to delight his queen. In 1619, he expanded the ancient garden into a royal one, naming it “Fara Baksh” (the delightful) for his wife Nur Jahan (light of the world). The Bagh is a pinnacle of Mughal horticulture, now a public park, and is often referred to as the crown of Srinagar.

Nishat Garden - Even more beautiful, Nishat Garden, meaning “delight,” was constructed by Asif Khan in 1633. This terraced garden is located on the eastern side of the famous Dal Lake, beneath the Zabarwan Hill range.

Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden - Yes, you read that correctly. Today is a garden tour, and this one might be the best, depending on the day you visit (weather plays a significant role) to see the tulips in full bloom.

Pari Mahal - Another Mughal creation, Pari Mahal overlooks Dal Lake, offering a panoramic view of Srinagar. Nestled in the Zabarwan hill range, you will enjoy your brief visit here.

Dal Lake - Experience Dal Lake not just from afar, but with a Shikara boat ride, exploring the lake’s inner parts, local markets, and the unique lifestyle of those living on the lake. Spend a full hour navigating through the lake.

Day Trip to Gulmarg Hill Station (65kms - 2 hours one way)

Gulmarg - Gulmarg is a hill station in Kashmir, located about 65 km from Srinagar. Renowned for its Pir Panjal range and natural beauty, it is a world-famous winter sports destination attracting thousands of visitors daily. It features a gondola cable car that ascends to 12,000 feet, with a second phase reaching 14,000 feet on the Pir Panjal Himalayan range.

Day Trip to Sonamarg - 85 kms (3 hours one way)

Sonamarg - Sonamarg, meaning “meadows of gold,” lives up to its name. The location, mountains, landscapes, Thajiwas glacier, and the scenic drive make it a golden experience. Regardless of the season, you will enjoy its beauty.

Pahalgam - The Valley of Shepherds - 96 kms (3 hours one way)

Pahalgam - Pahalgam, or the Valley of Shepherds, as its name suggests, was once home to herds of sheep and livestock, with most residents being shepherds. Over time, people have adapted to new ways of living, but the name remains. It is rich in nature, valleys, rivers, and countless shades of green. You will pass through the Saffron city and the apple valley before reaching Pahalgam. Enjoy the beautiful parts of Pahalgam, visiting the ABC valley or “mini Switzerland,” and savor your time in this charming town.
