Don't miss this museum tour - Kate was very engaging and informative. She answered all our questions. She made the medical care provided there during the time very interesting. If you have interest in medicine or health don't pass this place up. Well worth it!

Fascinating medical history tour - For anyone with an interest in the practice of medicine-or medical history in general- this tour is a can't miss stop. Our guide, Jose, was extremely knowledgeable and was eager to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend.

Very Informative & Interesting! - My sister and I did this tour in March and holy moly - they know their stuff! I wish I remembered his name (but he is pictured), but our "guide" was so passionate and informative. We got there earlier than the rest of the group and he got started with us. He was so full of the history of the hospital, historical medical practices, and just so excited about it. He walked us through the procedure for removing a bullet and amputating a limb. I found it really informative and interesting.

Great look at history - This was a fascinating look at medical history. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Questions were welcomed and if she didn't know the answer, she said so instead of making up an answer.

Guide knew her stuff - I don't know how our guide remembered all the information that she told us. This place offers a 40 min tour which takes place in 3 rooms of this place. The knowledgeable guide gave a good amount of information and answered all our questions. She told us how surgeries were done during the time the hospital was in operation.

Very informative - Very interesting and informative. I certainly appreciate the knowledge shared. My 16 year old grandson was very engaged and asked several questions. We both enjoyed it.

Fun and informative... - Fun and informative experience. We were with a group of school children which actually made it even more enjoyable to watch their reactions to the information.

Informative but overpriced and small. - Overpriced and tiny. I did learn a good amount, but there is not much to this museum at all. It really is primarily a lecture by the guide. I learned a lot, but had I known it was mainly a lecture, I might have reconsidered. That said, the guide did a fine job.

Very Interesting - I stopped in because I had purchased a Tour Pass and figured I might as well check this out since admission was included. I was informed it was not a self-guided experience, but rather a guided, educational experience similar to a classroom lesson. If that sounds boring to you, just give it a try anyway! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and taught us, while showing actual historic medical instruments, how to amputate a large limb, as well as how to amputate a finger, and then went over the process of releasing pressure and swelling from the brain. The content is perhaps graphic to some, but presented in a tasteful way intended to educate rather than shock. We also learned the methods used in an old apothecary and were given a chance to smell some of the old medicinal herbs and properties. There was a small gift shop attached that offered seeds to grow several medicinal herbs at home. Overall, a very interesting experience well worth checking out.
