- Wingfield Estate Sugar Plantation Ruins - Nestled in the Wingfield Estate Rainforest in St. Kitts, this picturesque and historically significant area is situated near Old Road Town. It offers easy-to-moderate hiking trails through a lush tropical rainforest, beginning at the 17th-century Wingfield Estate, which houses the oldest rum distillery ruins in the Caribbean. Visitors can delight in the vibrant plant life, observe vervet monkeys, and explore remnants of the island’s colonial sugar industry, all within a serene, shaded forest environment. It is a favored destination for eco-tours and nature walks.
- Wingfield-Phillips Rain Forest Nature Trail - The Wingfield Rain Forest Trail leads adventurers into the surrounding rainforest via a forest trail along the river. This moderately easy hike meanders through a lively landscape of bamboo, Heliconias, ferns, and tropical hardwoods. Along the journey, participants might encounter vervet monkeys, exotic birds, and other native wildlife.
- Rocks (Kalinago Drawings) - Carib Petroglyphs in Old Road Town, Saint Kitts. The island was originally inhabited by the Kalinagos, also known as Caribs, before 1623 when the first Europeans arrived at what is now Old Road Town. Most of these Indigenous people were either killed or forced to flee by the earliest English and French settlers. There is little evidence of their presence on Saint Kitts, with a rare exception being these petroglyphs near Wingfield Estate. Historians believe the simplistic rock carvings represent a zemi deity, while others suggest they are fertility symbols. They have been painted white to accentuate the details.
- Bloody River - Evidence of Indian occupation dating back thousands of years is found in the form of some petroglyphs. Additionally, the river and Bloody Point are the sites where approximately 2,000 Kalinago people were massacred by English and French colonists in 1626.
