Great way to see the island - Only having a day on Gozo we wanted to see as much as the island as we possibly could and this form of transport ticked the box. The bus is waiting directly outside the ferry terminal and so takes all the hassle out of sight seeing. As with these buses, you get earbuds which tells you all about the sights you are seeing so makes the tour educational as well as great. We chose to get off at the artisan village, where he had a great meal and lovely look around the handcraft shops. The buses area round every 45 mins so we chose to spend 1.5 hours in the Artisan village which suited us. The roads are very narrow and you appreciate the driving skills of the driver as they negotiate around the slim streets of this beautiful island.

Drivers are really lovely - Anthony was great in advising us to getting a ticket and where from as we had a dog and we were worried we couldn’t take them (all the other drivers were great that we met)!

Good family day out but won’t do again. - The buses were frequent but in need of repair, unless you were upstairs there was no aircon or air which was difficult in the heat. The stops were interesting we particularly enjoyed the inland see and the rock climbing and paddling you could do there especially my teenager. The guide was good but very out of time often 5/10 mins early or late so you missed what you were looking out for which was a shame but not completely useless.

Waste of money and time. - I booked before reading the reviews! I think the issue is that they try to visit too many locations and because they only pickup every hour, you find that you can realistically only visit 2-3 spots. On our first day, we had to skip all sites on the northern route to spend some time at Mdina. The second spot was Golden Sands which was just packed so we really didnt want to stay for an hour but because there's a change of schedule around lunchtime we ended up having to stay 1hr 30mins.
The pickup spots are fine once your on the bus as you know where you got off, but there is a lack of signage so when you join for the first time, you're a bit unsure if you're in the right place.
On our second day, we visitted just two sites in the southern tour and as we'd already been driven through St Julians and the rest of the east coast, there was no point doing a 3hr journey in midday sun to get back to Senglea so we just grabbed a cab back.
Three of the buses we used had no audio in our seat and when there was audio, it was often out of sync with your location.
My advice, hire a car or pick 2-3 sites to visit per day and just pay for taxi's to take you! When we cut short day 2, it only cost us 12euro to get back from The Blue Grotto to Senglea.

Really long and dull - One of the dullest tours I have been on. Malta has so much more to offer than the tour shows. Took ages going around different hotels snd stopping there and almost completely skipping the beautiful Valletta. Very little information about historical places, basically, if you wish to sit in the heat for 3.5 hours staring at barren landscape or packed up average hotels - this is the tour. More wise option - take direct taxi to the place you want to see. Mdina is lovely.

Just terrible - Terrible commentary, no air con if you have to sit inside due to frequent overcrowding, noisy smelly and uncomfortable buses. Really disappointing!

Unorganised-Rip off - The worst Hop on Hop off service I have ever used. Seriously, they took the money put us on the which seemed one of two buses never to see a single representative of the company again, besides the bus driver.
Long, boring and hot.

Unnecessary waste of money and time. - This was the worst hop on hop off bus we have ever taken. They have so little information on their audio system. You gou past so many things of interest and on their system only silence. Half of their stops they don't even announce. We missed some of the busses because they don't stick to their schedule. What a horrible experience. We took the public bus more often than the hop on hop of one because at least you can set your watch to their schedule.

Masterclass in How Not to Run a Tour - If you’ve ever thought, “My vacation just isn’t stressful enough,” the Gozo hop-on hop-off bus is here to help. We were treated to a luxurious 40+ minute wait while the staff perfected their art of bargaining with other tourists. Apparently, departure schedules are more of a loose suggestion than an actual commitment.
Once we finally departed—only after the top deck erupted in shouts—the driver treated us to his signature performance of rocking the bus back and forth until we were quiet. It’s a bold choice to respond to paying customers like you’re scolding a classroom of unruly children, but hey, points for creativity.
When a fellow passenger asked for help getting off, the driver’s customer service approach was a fascinating mix of sarcasm, minimal effort, and visible disdain. We dared to suggest a little more cooperation and kindness, and in return, we got the ever-charming “shut up.” Truly, nothing says “welcome to Gozo” quite like open hostility from your tour operator.
If you’re into performance art that combines impatience, incompetence, and a dash of verbal abuse, this bus ride is a must. For everyone else—save yourself the ticket price and go find literally any other way to see the island

Don’t use, Taxis where you want to- as commentary useless, stops and frequency insufficient! - Set off on the North tour, first bus from Silema with a plan to spend the day hopping on and off! Problem 1, very limited commentary. 2. Stops were announced after set off with no commentary throughout Valletta. 3. Our first planned stop the Brewery for breakfast and the tour, was missed without notice - commentary had restarted and made no sense! Decided to get a taxis from Mostar to Brewery and then problem 4. Lack of buses and hourly …. Often an hour is too little time but then 2 hours is too long. Or 2.5 with the weird break in the afternoon! Finally 5. As we tried to visit the places we had planned - we tried to get back on track with a bus, but none are running on time and the bus stops are really unclear. We paid 50 euro to ultimately taking a delayed bus from Silema to Mostar!
We have done hop on and hop off around the world, but after this experience will question using in the future.
