Amazon Adventures - best Pantanal experience! - Amazon Adventures provided the trip of a lifetime to the Pantanal, and so much more than we expected! The wildlife and scenery is there but it takes an experienced guide and perhaps a little luck to put you in the right place at the right time.
Our guide and friend Munir accomplished more than that during our 5-day trip. It was clear from Day 1 that the Pantanal is in his blood. Munir is the most knowledgeable and delightful guide we’ve ever had. He worked tirelessly to share with us the most awe-inspiring sights and sounds and found just as much joy in every moment as we did.
We cannot recommend Munir and Amazon Adventures enough – the personalized care, from the reservation process with Jorge to our last drop off, was beyond compare.

Beautiful adventure in the Amazon. - It was a top experience! Well arranged from start to finish with clear information. The trips were fun and lived up to expectations. Especially camping in the jungle was very nice. The guides are professional and friendly, as are the staff at the hotel. The food tasty and more than adequate.

Wild Amazonia - It an amazing experience for people who enjoy wild life, are flexible and are easy to adopt to the environment.

Once in a life time! - Unbelievable trip! Me and two friends done 3 nights 4 days camped in the jungle for 2 nights out the 3. Unbelievable experience. Like no other. Food was very good to a lot of variety, which was surprising in the middle of the jungle. Would definitely recommend.

I approve! - I went to this tour, booked over WPP and did not know what to expect. Just want to say that it met all my expectations. The tour is very well organized in an awesome environment quiet deep in the joungle.
My tour guides - Eddy, Ben and Adelson were amazing and helped me with anything I needed.
So, If you are hesistant about booking, don't be and go for it.

Cozy - Simple but welcoming. great food. When you go into amazine you don't expect a 5 star hotel just fine this. In the middle of nature by the water. Not being afraid of spiders

Consider Booking Your Amazon Adventure Tour With Another Tour Company - This review is of two components.
1) The Amazon Experience - The Anaconda Lodge was very nice, and the staff helpful. Unfortunately, due to a build-up of grass on the river, it became virtually impassible by boat. As a result, we were only able to do two excursions: visit to a nearby town with an abandoned rubber tree era hotel, and an overnight stay in the jungle. All other excursions were cancelled, due to inaccessibility by boat, and the lodge was closed because new guests could not reach it. These two excursions were very good, and quite memorable.
2) Refunds - Amazon Amazing Tours issued cash refunds to those guests who booked directly with them, because guests could not participate in all the planned excursions. For those of us who booked through third party agents, such as TripAdvisor, we were told to apply for refunds via these agents. I have messaged Amazon Amazing Tours twice via TripAdvisor messaging, seeking my refund, and have not received the courtesy of a reply. Prior to this, if I sent them messages regarding the tour, they typically responded within 24 hours.
It would be easy to argue that the grass build-up on the river was unforeseeable, and therefore an 'Act of God,' which would not entitle guests to refunds. To me this would be totally understandable. However, since the company chose to issue cash refunds to some guests, and no refunds to others, this seems unfair and somewhat arbitrary.
As a result, I cannot recommend Amazon Amazing Tours, and would suggests to persons interested in an Amazon adventure tour seek out another tour company.

Disappointing experience - Very sad and DE disappointed after a much less authentic experience than we expected. The activities take up exaggerated ENte little time a day and the rest of the day you can only lie EN a hammock because on the small island there is NO more to do (not even a guidebook with which to learn a little about the flora and fauna of the Amazon). It was wrong, we were taken DE camping on the first day (the excursion to spend the night consists EN a short boat ride to DEplane and hang the hammocks while the guides prepare a delicious dinner, with no interaction other than to see how they do it; this lasted like 2 or 3 hours). DE addition, even though the camping was supposed to be done on the third night, it was done on the first night, the only night that rained, it was very uncomfortable those hours EN "camp" because we could not go for a walk or sit on the ground. I think that time could have been enlivened DE some way by DE main guide, telling a little about the environment or culture (I recommend implementing something of this type for the future, sure the experience will be better for visitors).
The activities included EN the package were EN general quite basic; NO matter how much we got to our EN challenge, we were taken for a boat trip to see the flooded forest (we really liked it). The active DE's that were really worth it, are paid extra. There was NO way out to see the sunrise, as recorded EN the program.
EN regards to accommodation, it would be nice if a little DElight were given to the maintenance DE the rooms. We had something very basic, POR course, but there are things that with a little DE effort can be improved to make visitors feel a little more comfortable (POR example, put trash cans with lid EN the bathroom, so that toilet paper, which should NO be flushed POR the toilet according to team request, is NO unhygienic).
Although communicating with staff was NO easy matter how much they speak Portuguese, it must be said that EN general they are all very friendly and willing to help. The only person who spoke English and Spanish besides DE Portuguese was the main guide; a shame that he showed NO desire ENdeavor DE make this experience memorable.
I would have loved DE write a review talking about how wonderful this experience should have been, but unfortunately I can DO NO more. I DA very much to have travelled DE DE so far to have contact with the Amazon rainforest, even though I fully understand that neither the animals will appear at will nor you can really enter the jungle. It has been too shallow a contact and POR unfortunately would recommend it NO.

Totally overrated/ stay away! - Totally sucked on every level. Accomodations were awful. Bathrooms should be condemned. The guide had a bad attitude. The tour operator kept changing the itinerary multiple times a day. The food was repetitive and barely edible, unless you love eating dry chicken, pasta and rice daily. They occupy your time by just boating down the river with no destination for 2 hours and getting sunburned. That happened for 2 consecutive days. Finally, all 15 of us excitedly went piranha fishing with a bamboo stick and no reel. Unsurprisingly, nobody caught anything. Total crap on every level. There were no highlights to this trip other than everyone commiserating!

Somewhere between ripoff and scam - The tour ended up being an expensive nightmare. Fittingly, Amazon Amazing Tours did not respond to our criticism but rather blocked our phone number. Hence, we decided to warn future potential buyers of this trip here.
- You're being ripped off. We paid 2000 Reais per person for this tour because it was supposedly more ecological and with "professional guides" compared to other agencies. Needless to say that we ended up in a group with people booking through other agencies (e.g. Encontró das Aguas, Safari ecología) and paying only 1400 Reais. Everything was exactly the same for everyone - there was no difference in accommodation or food options that could explain a price difference.
- The agreed upon tour programme was not respected by the tour guides. There was a complete lack of organization - activities were done randomly and in a chaotic fashion. Paid for activities that were not delivered include an overnight stay at an indigenous community with spearfishing at night, processing of cassava/manioc flour, planting cassava, extracting rubber from trees, teaching of survival techniques, watching of pink dolphins
- Persistent lack of communication by tour guide: he never mentioned what we were going to do and how we should prepare for it, resulting in us not bringing essential items to stay safe in a potentially dangerous rainforest environment (e.g. he made us get in the boat and go somewhere without telling us that we were headed to camp in the forest for the night)
- Problematic alcohol addiction of tour guide: he was day drinking throughout the whole trip, often stopping at small floating kiosks to buy more beer or even asking tour members to buy him a beer. Especially while camping in the jungle, the guide was completely drunk, lying in the mud and mumbling random stuff - he certainly wasn't able to watch out for wild animals. The fact that he was carrying a machete while drunk made us feel extremely unsafe and we did not dare to confront him.
- The tour was advertised as ecological, which turned out not to be true: guides and staff of the forest lodge were throwing plastic rubbish and cigarette buds into the river and forest. There also was a big pile of rubbish hidden just behind the lodge.
