The Christ Redeemer statue, perched atop Corcovado Mountain (710m / 2330ft), is undoubtedly Brazil’s most iconic landmark, situated in the first sector of the Tijuca Forest National Park. The hike commences at Parque Lage, a park adorned with the Atlantic rainforest, featuring a stunning and grand old mansion along with numerous century-old palm trees. The ascent takes approximately two and a half hours, offering a highly rewarding view from the top, regarded as one of Rio’s most exceptional viewpoints. For the return journey, the descent will be by car or van.
