• Parque Nacional da Tijuca - The Tijuca Forest (Portuguese: Floresta da Tijuca) is a lush tropical rainforest located in Rio de Janeiro, spanning approximately 32 km² (12.4 mi²). The tour includes a visit to Tijuca Forest with a stop at Paineiras to board the official vehicles of the National Park Authority, allowing access to the summit of Corcovado Hill where the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue stands.

• Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer - At the peak of Corcovado Hill, visitors can marvel at the Christ the Redeemer statue, which stands 38 meters tall and is constructed from reinforced concrete adorned with a mosaic of thousands of triangular soapstone tiles. This location also offers some of the most stunning views of the city.

• Mirante Dona Marta - In the event of poor visibility at the Corcovado summit, an alternative stop will be made at Mirante Dona Marta, which provides one of the most breathtaking views of the city, making it one of Rio de Janeiro’s most popular tourist spots. From this vantage point, visitors can see the Sugar Loaf Mountain, the Christ the Redeemer, the Maracanã, the Guanabara Bay, and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon.

• Boticario Square - Largo do Boticário (Apothecary’s Square) is situated in the Cosme Velho neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. The area is known for its large, neo-colonial houses and lush Atlantic Forest vegetation.

• Morro da Urca - This hill, standing at 220 meters, is the first stop of the cable car journey to Sugar Loaf Mountain. From the top of Morro da Urca, visitors can enjoy spectacular views of various city landmarks, including the beaches of Leme, Copacabana, Ipanema, Flamengo, Leblon, Pedra da Gávea, Tijuca Massif, Corcovado with the Christ the Redeemer statue, Guanabara Bay, Enseada Botafogo, Downtown, Santos Dumont Airport, Governador Island, Niterói, Rio-Niterói Bridge, and in the distance, the Serra do Mar and the Dedo de Deus peak.

• Sugarloaf Mountain - The journey to the top is completed in two stages by cable car. The first stage takes visitors to Urca Hill, 220 meters above sea level, offering impressive views of Baia de Guanabara. After enjoying the scenery, the second cable car ascends to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain, 396 meters above sea level. From this height, visitors can experience the most breathtaking views of Rio de Janeiro, truly understanding why it is called “The Wonderful City.”

• Maracana - After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to the Maracanã Stadium (exterior only), where there will be a brief stop for photos at the statue of Bellini, the renowned captain who led Brazil’s soccer team to victory in the 1958 World Cup.

• Sambodromo da Marques de Sapucai - Following the Maracanã Stadium visit, the tour proceeds to the Sambadrome, the venue for the city’s main Carnival parade. There will be an opportunity to take photos and try on the famous Samba School costumes worn during Carnival.

• The Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Sebastian - As the tour continues through the city, visitors will see the Lapa Arches, Lavradio Street, and Avenida Chile. The tour includes a visit to the cone-shaped Metropolitan Cathedral, a significant landmark in this Brazilian city and a masterpiece of modern art. Inspired by the Mayan pyramids of Mexico, the conical shape is believed to symbolize closeness to God. Four stained glass windows stretch from floor to ceiling, forming a cross at the top. • Carioca Aqueduct - The Carioca Aqueduct is located in the city’s center, in the Lapa neighborhood, and is commonly referred to as Arcos da Lapa (Lapa Arches) by locals. Since the late 19th century, the aqueduct has served as a bridge for a popular tram that connects the city center with the Santa Teresa neighborhood uphill, known as the Santa Teresa Tramway.

• Escadaria Selaron - The next stop is the Escadaria Selarón (Selaron Stairs), a vibrant tiled stairway created by self-taught Chilean artist Jorge Selarón. After traveling the world, Selarón settled in Rio in 1983, in a small house facing the neglected stairway connecting Lapa and Santa Teresa. The 215 steps are entirely covered with tiles collected from urban areas of Rio or donated by visitors worldwide. Since 1990, Selarón has laid over 2000 tiles, predominantly red-colored, as a “tribute to the Brazilian people.”

• Sao Bento Monastery - The tour concludes with a visit to the São Bento Monastery, a place of monastic simplicity and one of Brazil’s most beautiful architectural complexes. The exterior’s austere, intentionally simple appearance contrasts with the interior’s opulence, featuring gilded Baroque engravings with plant motifs. Visitors can admire the exuberant Rococo style in the high altar’s engravings, followed by views of the dome and the Chapel of the Santíssimo Sacramento.
