- Tijuca National Park - On this tour, we’ll hike for about 3h in a loop circuit in the Tijuca Forest National Park. We’ll visit the atlantic rainforest, hiking on trails, up and downhill, passing by waterfalls, caves, bridges and also historical sites. After the hike, there’s a break for a waterfall shower.

This Tijuca Forest tour circuit offers a unique experience by visiting lesser-known attractions within the National Park, providing an exclusive feel. The hike covers approximately 6.4 km (3.8 miles) on trails established in the 19th century, when the area was home to coffee farms. Participants will uncover and learn about the history of Tijuca National Park, one of the largest replanted urban forests in the world.
During the journey, visitors will explore Cascatinha Taunay (the tallest waterfall in the park), the Mayrink Chapel (dating back to 1850), the Cova da Onça Bridge, the Eucalyptus Forest (formerly a slave cemetery), and the Bat’s Grotto (the largest gneiss cave in Brazil).
Afterward, participants can refresh at the Baronesa Cascade waterfall before descending back to the starting point, visiting additional historical attractions along the way.
The tour beautifully blends history, adventure, nature, and a refreshing waterfall shower, among other attractions, by exploring hidden spots that showcase the charm and character of Rio and its tropical rainforest.
