- Truso Gorge - Renowned as Georgia’s most stunning valley, Truso Valley is an enchanting destination featuring breathtaking mineral springs, a swift river, and natural “pools.” The journey begins and concludes in the village of Okrokana, located 25 km from Stepantsminda. Transportation to and from the site will be provided by a 4x4 vehicle from our office.
- Zakagori Fortress - Enjoy a delightful 22 km trek along a flat trail through Kasari Canyon, passing the deserted village of Ketrisi and two monasteries, leading to the Zakagori Fortress near the Russian border, where a Georgian military base is situated.
- Ketrisi - Experience a picnic by a natural “pool,” encountering numerous shepherds and their flocks. This trek is manageable but spans a full day (22 km and 7 hours total), requiring a good level of fitness. Participants should bring water, snacks, and be prepared for variable weather conditions. A jacket and rain gear are recommended, along with trekking shoes. The car journey takes 1 hour, while the trek itself lasts 7 hours.

Once in a lifetime amazing experience - We booked Angel Mountain and Juta hikes with mountain freaks, and our guide was Keti.
These were the hikes of our lives. Not only did Keti help the two of us with little hiking experience to finish the hikes, but she also shared beautiful stories and background information with us. Words cannot describe how much joy, fun and awe we had on these hikes.
She also cares genuinely about the environment and local community, which we really respect. This shows true love of the mountains and the experience.
We already cannot wait to come back to Kazbegi, and would recommend hiking with Mountain Freaks to everyone!

Mountains Freaks is the best. - Mountain Freaks is the go-to guiding company in Kazbegi/Stepantsminda. Superb planning and communication (Keti is a true professional). Wonderfully talented, informative and personable guide (Soliman is a rock star). Our family of five had two wonderful days hiking in the world’s most beautiful mountains. Highly recommend. Having a guide enriched our experience of the Mountains and our understanding of Georgia.

Beautiful views of a unique landscape - Great trekking trip to the beautiful Truso Valley. The views were simply amazing. Even though it was snowing, my guide Keti made sure the whole experience was a lot of fun. And thank you to the Mountain Freaks team for letting me hire a pair of much needed trekking shoes and poncho.

Nice day hike - Was nice to have a guide (particularly as one of the group was older). Our guide Solomon, was great and very helpful. Lovely hike (22km if you go the whole way) through the valley, mostly flat or inclines are not great.

Wonderful experience for two families with kids - We had a wonderful experience with Mountain Freaks. The communication with Keti before our trip was great. She took time for a phone call where she explained in details the tours they offer and the pros and cons, considering the needs of our group of 10 people with children. This allowed us to make an informed decision on the Juta and Truso Valleys tours. Keti was our guide for both tours and she was just perfect. She shared a lot about the history and nature of the wonderful places we visited. Keti was also an excellent guide for our 6 kids from 4 to 13 years old. We felt completely safe with her and she managed to transmit to our kids a true pleasure for the hike and energy to complete the tour with a smile even when they started to be tired toward the end of the day. Mountain freaks also arranged the cars for our tours and for the transfer to Tbilisi, offering a transparent and professional service. Fully recommended. We look forward to the next hike with them!
