This experience will warm your heart and your belly! - This is a not-to-miss experience if you're traveling to Crete. We came in the off-season (Jan 2026) so as a result the day was cold and rainy, and nobody else had signed up. It didn't matter, Sofia and Paraskevos made a magical experience even though there was only the two of us! We had a blast learning to make traditional foods right in their own home's kitchen (due to the rain), hearing about the farm including the history and culture, and felt truly welcome and cared for. We got to meet many other family members as well, and share in some Raki. The whole time, from beginning to end, felt very special and we feel very lucky to have gotten to share time and a meal and learn the true meaning of Veggera.

A Delightful Taste of Tradition at Veggera Farm - Our visit to Veggera was nothing short of magical. We learned how to prepare authentic local dishes, guided by warm and knowledgeable hosts. While our creations baked in the oven, we explored the charming farm grounds and even had the chance to milk goats—a truly hands-on experience! From start to finish, it was immersive, fun, and unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to connect with nature and culture in a meaningful way.

This was our favorite day... - This was our favorite day in Crete . From the moment we met this wonderful family we felt as though we had known them a lifetime. Sofia was a fabulous chef and taught us how to make an incredible dinner. We all had a hands on experience with cooking dinner, touring there incredible farm, milking goats, visiting there Yia yia and friends, dancing and singing. I can not say enough. It was a magical night . It is a must do in Crete. Beautiful people, every one of them and fabulous food . 5 stars

BEST and most authentic experience we ever had in Europe - This experience was honestly the highlight of our trip to Greece : we felt like Sofia and her brother welcomed us not only to their table, but into their family! They gave us a taste of their culture through their home-grown food and their generosity. We loved the food as much as we loved to learn about their community and their way of life. Really the most genuine and authentic interaction we ever had. We came back home and were inspired to cook Greek cuisine. Thank you for this amazing experience! Very good is not enough,... - Very good is not enough, it was real and fantastic! We felt really like part of the family. We started cooking the delicious food with Sofia and Nikos showed us around the village. The family does everything! From beekeeping, wine, raki, the farm, the vegetables, the cheeses and the incredible olive oil (you'll be surprised as I was with their olive oil usage!), everything that you eat is sourced there, it makes a simple dakos (toast with tomato and in this case also a homemade heavenly myzithra cheese) just an out of this world experience! To top it all off, we were joined by the family, and also some other neighbours and friends, (experience which I love as it gives me fond memories). Getting to know the local culture firsthand is something that I love, but personally, it felt super special sharing it with this lovely family who genuinely treat you like you are also part of their family. Mind you, every time we attempted to leave, they brought fruit, or dessert or a delicious raki to celebrate. If you want to meet a real Cretan family, learn about the real Cretan life, then look no further, it feels less of a tour and more like an immersion. I cannot express how much I loved this - a simple afternoon of sharing with a lovely group of people.

Unforgettable cooking experience in Stilos organic farm Veggera - Welcomed by Sofia and Vas as family, we enjoyed a cooking experience under dappled shade overlooking breathtaking views of the mountains and valley below. With fresh vegetables, cheese and meat collected from their organic farm, we set about cooking about 5 recipes. Into the big clay oven. While the food was cooking, we were taken on a farm tour, offered goat milking, egg collecting, holding newborn rabbits, chicks, etc. We were privileged to meet their grandmother (big Sofia) and hear some of her stories of farming the land with her husband. We picked grapes from the vines above our heads and saw where the wine making took place in the traditional way. Nothing, nothing goes to waste on this farm, including the stalks from the grapes. We enjoyed the meal and met their mother (Sofia), niece Sofula and a family godfather. We now have family in Crete!

Warm hospitality and delicious food on a fun day in the countryside - It’s hard to put into words the magical, beautiful day we spent here. The entire experience was beyond my expectations - from the warm hospitality extended to us by everyone in the family we met to the delicious food we prepared, to the enchanting setting in the countryside, and more. We loved seeing the animals, even having a chance to milk the goats. Sofia guided us through the cooking with expert care and directions, and her brother Paraskevos was so kind to show us around the farm, explaining how he collects honey, how they make raki, and even serenading us on the Greek version of the mandolin. To add to all this, we got to meet the matriarch of the family, the yiayia (grandmother) who invited us into her house for cookies and a drink. We will long remember this beautiful family and the authentic Greek experience they gave us - a real highlight of our trip to Greece.

The *REAL* authentic Greece culture experience - “The best thing we’ve done all trip” was what my husband said to me after we left the farm. We spent pretty much all day being welcomed into this family’s house/community village and it was everything and more. It was just us and another couple doing the experience. We had a nice slow start with coffees and water and then started the cooking experience. All of the supplies we used was from their local herb garden. We once we made the dish and waited for it to cook and we were welcomed to visit their farm along with the grandmothers house. It was so authentic because it was legit. The conversations created by us the experiencees and the people hosting us was phenomenal. They gave us unlimited homemade wine as well, which my husband was a huge fan of, and he doesn’t usually drink wine haha. Sooo much more than just a cooking class. We spent all of 6 hours with this family and could’ve spent all day with them. Truly so thankful for their hospitality. A memory we won’t forget!
