Perfect walking tour of the old town - We went with Julia of Nordic Freedom Tours. The tour was everything we had hoped for, and Julia was personable, super knowledgeable, and exquisitely tuned in to the members of the group, able to detect and respond to humor, curiosity, confusion, or even personal needs. She accommodated everyone to point out or direct them to whatever convenience (like facilities) or spectacle of interest to them, and had a speaking style that was audible to all, easily understood, and charming and often humorous. We had a terrific time.

Two hour old town tour - Our group was only 20, a good size because the guide doesn’t use whispers. Highly recommend a later tour (5 pm) to avoid the crush of cruise passengers in the small streets. If it rains, the walk still happens. Take an umbrella even with blue skies.

Quirky and interesting tour - Our guide Josephina was excellent mixing history and humorous anecdotes . The tour was a great introduction to the Old Town. The group was split into two which helped us to move along at a nice pace. Josephina kept checking that we could hear. I was surprised to hear it described as a ‘free tour’ as we booked and paid beforehand on TA and a previous reviewer commented that some people didn’t tip so that was probably the reason!

Perfectly paced and friendly tour. Thank you! - Unfortunately, I didn’t get the tour guides name, but the tour was excellent. She told us a lot of nice facts and added some humor in also. She made sure that no one got left behind and tried to make sure everyone could hear. We noticed some people not tipping, and that is just wrong. These are likely students that are working and learning. Don’t be selfish and cheap and show some appreciation. If you can’t do that little, don’t take a free tour.

Great tour with great guide Silla! - Great experience, just the right length, covers the core history and spots with wonderful stories. The guide, Silla, was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient, and spoke perfect English.

The perfect way to discover Stockholm - This guided tour by a local guide is the ideal way to get to know Stockholm's historic centre. We paid around 13 euros per person, which I think is not so bad, and it was worth every euro! Moreover, we were lucky enough to be out with Marta, a young history student, who told the stories about the old city in a smooth, lively and funny way and in excellent English.

A pleasant morning in Old Town - Our tour guide Sophia is a fifth generation Stockholm resident and knows the city intimately. She was very personable able to answer virtually any question that was thrown at her and provided us with a really nice day.

Significant room for improvement - The reason for the modest score is as follows: 1. Group size too large. I have been in 4 previous walking tours this trip and a group size of 30 is ridiculous/silly 2. Whilst Josie (think that was her name!) did her best, about 1/3 of her vocalisation was lost, due to the distance between her and the attendees 3. The 100 approx people attending the guided walk were divided into 3 groups. At the start of the event no attempt was made by any of the 3 leaders to circulate, communicate with attendees and ensure they were at the correct event. This seemed very odd and did not occur in previous guided walks over the past month. 4. At the conclusion of the event, Josie made a pitch for tips. We had already paid a fee to join the tour and thought this was ‘over the top’. My partner and I have a thirst for knowledge through guided City walks. Today’s event promised much but sadly under delivered.
