- Tyresta National Park and Nature Reserve - From beginning to end, you’ll feel as though you’ve left Scandinavia’s largest city far behind. Embrace the true spirit of hiking by cooking in the wilderness and sleeping beneath the stars. Tyresta National Park, the largest ancient forest in southern Sweden, is home to ancient trees and a rich variety of wildlife, including deer, boars, moose, and the elusive lynx.
Although the dense forest can make it difficult to spot these animals, there are ample opportunities to observe birds, particularly owls and woodpeckers. This region has been inhabited since ancient times, with Vikings once residing here, attracted by the breathtaking landscapes sculpted by ice ages. It’s an ideal chance to connect with nature and explore history.
Guides will lead you through the dense, ancient forest and provide all the necessary hiking equipment. Please be aware that you will need to carry your own gear (all supplied by us).
The tour is suitable for anyone with a normal fitness level (approximately 35 km distance), with no need to be an athlete.
