The Viking Museum - In the vivid exhibition you will meet the Vikings through movies, scenery, projections and sound effects as well as archaeological objects. Knowledgeable guides in Viking gear will answer all your questions and the many replicas let you explore life as a Viking with all your senses. You will learn about the Viking raids, journeys and mastery in ship building as well as the everyday life at the farm. The Norse mythology is present everywhere and here myth meets truth.
Ragnfrid’s saga is a Viking ride where you get to follow along on a trip to the Viking Age. The journey begins at Frösala Farm with Ragnfrid and her husband Harald. Then you proceed to go on a journey where you witness plundering in the west and slave trade in the east. With sounds, light and atmospheric environments you travel through the 11-minute journey that is told by Ragnfrid herself.

Interactive museum and passionate staff - We loved the museum!!
Two staff members in Viking clothing gave us an insight into life at the time and the museum artefacts. The historical knowledge of the tall Viking man (sorry I forgot your name!!) complete with log hair and beard, was fantastic.
The Disney-like ride downstairs told an interesting story and the authentic food in the upstairs cafe and unique gifts in the shop rounded out the trip.
Well worth a visit but make sure you also catch a free guide talk as this really helps your understanding.

Worth it - Booked through get your guide which specified an entry time of 10am, but the staff at the museum said it could be used any time as it's valid for 1 day. It wasn't very busy when i arrived but picked up around 11am. The first English tour is at 1030am and is very much worth attending. The guide is doing a Masters in archaeology so had fantastic knowledge of the history of migration and the culture. The museum is rather small compared to some of the others (90 minutes should be enough) but I'd highly recommend including a visit into your iteniary!

The museum we enjoyed the most during our visit to Stockholm - I'm fascinated by the history of the Vikings and have previously been to the York and Largs museums (the Largs exhibition is now tiny).
As an English speaker I wasn't sure how accessible this would be but was impressed from the outset as a very tall Viking (apparently much taller than the Vikings ever were in the day) engaged our group of visitors very effectively with a history lesson made fun.
The remainder of the museum was also well presented and informative and I would recommend this if you are at all interested in the history of the Vikings or have watched the BBC series 'The Last Kingdom' which overlaps Norse and Saxon history

An informative visit guided by the wonderful Jacob. - I booked two virtual visits for approximately 70 EFL university students. Communication with the museum went through Jacob, whose English is perfect, and it was also Jacob who guided us through the museum. He is absolutely passionate about his topic, saying "I am always ready to talk about the Vikings", gave us a detailed presentation of the different maps and artifacts, and really took the time to answer my students' questions. Something I found wonderful was the way he greeted each student individually: they would say "hello" in timid English, and he would boom back "hello!" in a friendly voice, which made them smile and helped them find the confidence to ask their question. He would then say "good question!" or "that's an interesting question!". The whole visit was informative and entertaining, and Jacob now has 70 new French fans :).

Awesome Viking Museum - This museum was a hit with the whole family. It's not very big but the interactivity with the staff is top notch. We had a gentlemen, dressed in Viking garb, talk to us about the history of Vikings and involved the audience in his presentation. They also had a Disney style ride in the basement that took you through a Viking story. It was really enjoyable and a must visit.

HISTORY OF THE VIKINGS - A friendly museum with museum staff in period costume, a young man tells the story of the Vikings. Finally, a story with several paintings is visible during a ride where you sit in a ride with sound and lights.

Interesting museum - silly ride - The timeline and explanations of the artifacts was good. The ride in the basement was silly. The museum emphasizes the farm life of people during the Viking Age but then the silly ride is about some guy going off to fight and pillage??
