The hike begins with a brief, steep ascent from the parking area before veering onto a seldom-used hidden trail that meanders through forests, mountains, and lakes. During the hike, the guide will take the opportunity to highlight and sample various species of plants, berries, mosses, and lichens, while also sharing insights into local wildlife and cultural heritage.

The hike’s final stretch leads to a mountaintop offering breathtaking views of Stavanger, the Lysefjorden, and Preikestolen from above—vistas that most hikers never see! After taking in these views, the group descends to Pulpit Rock to gaze into the fjord below. Following a relaxing break here, the preferred return route to the trailhead is chosen.
