Tour Guide Extraordinaire! - I had a solo tour of Strasbourg with Rebecca, a graduate student at the local university. She was promptly waiting for me at the Place de la Republique statute in the center of the plaza-- and was a cheerful and engaging young local! The tour began immediately at the plaza, as she explained the significance of the geography and lay out of our immediate surroundings, including their history. She even went into details regarding the gardens, which I particularly enjoyed as an avid gardener. We moved on from there on a walking tour that would take us past other pieces of local art, historic architecture, the farmers market (that was on display that afternoon by chance, a nice treat!) all the while explaining and intertwining the history of all the lay before us as we advanced on the tour. She very helpfully explained which shops and bakeries used the freshest local produce and let me know what restaurants and cafes to avoid. She kept up such an engaging conversation on all that was surrounding us that, before I even knew it, she had rounded us past a corner to the most breathtaking view of the Strasbourg cathedral. She did it with such dramatic perfection that I really must applaud her and note this in particular--that we could come across such a massive structure seemingly out of the blue, due to her thorough knowledge of the local streets and how best to approach the cathedral for maximum affect, is the true sign to me of the perfect tour guide. I cannot forget to mention that there were also planned protests that day across France, and we had mutually agreed to meet for the tour earlier than expected so as to avoid any troubles. As the crowds began to gather with their signs, she suggested a tucked away spot where I could enjoy a late lunch and avoid any problems, and I of course asked her to join me so as to continue the conversation--now on French politics--and enjoy a lovely leisurely lunch surrounded by the locals. At the end of our meal, she expertly guided me back to our meeting spot where I reluctantly said goodbye as I had thoroughly enjoyed this remarkable and unforgettable tour. I will surely treasure it as a memory of my time in Strasbourg, and from now on any tour that I am on has a very high bar to clear!

Strasbourg, walking tour… Simply the best! - This was a phenomenal tour. The areas to see in the knowledge exhibited by the tour guide was just exceptional. It was great to learn the history of the region and relate this to the existing architecture statues of buildings. Seeing the cathedral of Notre Dame and hearing all the phenomenal stories over the centuries was absolutely astounding. We started at Place de la République and did the walking tour that was clearly strategically planned. Most importantly, our guide, Rebecca was simply the best!

Worth seeing - La Petite France, the cathedral, the old town, but also the "new" Strasbourg is certainly worth a visit. We also both used Le PetitTrain, it is worth it.

Great way to "meet" Strasbourg - This is a wonderful way to see some of the city's most impressive sites. Our guide Stephanie was very knowledgeable and gave us many good recommendations for 'after the tour'.

Disappointing small group tour of Strasbourg - Disappointing 90 minute small group tour of Strasbourg. Turns out my husband and I were the only people in the group, but we didn't get much out of it. Gidda was knowledgeable, but he was too difficult to understand (accent). I had to ask him to repeat almost everything he said, then after a while, I just gave up. We won't be taking a tour like this with Tripadvisor again.

Eh… - Nice and personable young woman. But her grasp of relevant subject matter was poor. A very grim day.
