  Meet your guide and depart from Piazza San Vincenzo 2 hours before sunset. After a safety briefing, begin your hike from a nature trail that takes you to 400 meters, the maximum altitude allowed with a Volcanology guide. Enjoy the spectacular view of the summit craters and the Sciara del Fuoco. During the trek, take breaks to admire the views and also visit the island’s old cemetery. Cross the Mediterranean scrub, accompanied by the constant view of Strombolicchio. Upon the panoramic arrival on the Sciara del Fuoco, admire the sunset that colors the Aeolian archipelago red and observe the volcanic eruptions that illuminate the night sky. Return downhill in the dark, equipped with torches, to the starting point.

The hike includes periods of rest where you can drink in the stunning views and take a trip to the island’s ancient cemetery. As you reach the pinnacle of Sciara del Fuoco, marvel at the captivating sunset that bathes the Aeolian archipelago in shades of crimson, and witness the volcanic eruptions that light up the night sky. Take the journey back downhill under the darkness of the night, armed with torchlights, and return to the departure point.
