Out of all the activities... - Out of all the activities my partner and I did on our trip, this one felt the most personable and fun! Truthfully I wasn’t the best at handwriting Kanji 😅 but our instructor didn’t belittle us for it. She even gave us snacks and her own additional handmade art work as presents! If you have time in your itinerary, definitely try to fit this in!

We enjoyed our time with... - We enjoyed our time with the calligraphy teacher, who was very patient and accommodating of our group. We had plenty of options for writing Japanese characters (including a custom request) and had clear instructions in English on the steps we were to take. Everyone in our group had a great time and walked away with a little personalized piece of Japan!

Close to sky tree, but way better (and cheaper) - Yoko was incredible! She was the friendlist, most generous person that we met in Tokyo. And the activity was a lot of fun. My 7 year olds had a great time, and had no problem making their characters and t-shirts with Yoko's help. This is a really undervalued experience, and everyone should try to get it into their Tokyo itinerary. I mean, why drop souvenir money for a t-shirt at some tourist trap shop that 1 million other people have, when you can spend an hour making your own, unique t-shirt and learn about Japanese home life from a local?

Could have been more - Yoko was very nice and accommodating. It was a pleasure to learn more about her. I wish that there had been more of a focus on instruction...I was hoping to learn a little about technique, but it was actually just a tracing activity.
