Knowledgeable, friendly and well organised - My Majapahit tour with Barly was five-star, very enjoyable. Organisation was smooth and the communication was clear and in advance for pick-up confirmation by WA. Barly was very knowledgeable about the sites and made all the site entrances simple so I could enjoy them all hassle free. Barly is friendly and a very safe driver and the tour was very well planned. Majapahit - The Greatest Indonesian Empire - While preparing for the Java - Indonesia trip you saw this CNA documentary on Majapahit Epire. You were instantly hooked. And it was a relief that Viator has curated a trip for historyheads!
And for a historical tour you need a knowledgeable companion who knows his history, the people and all about current events happening in the country and the world. Barly, guide for today checks all the boxes. It was a joyous day – your kind of day – as we go on a Temple Run in Mojokerta. Yes, Kawah Putih was amazing but to you it was a side meal. A whole day of exploring ancient built heritage is what you call the main course. Java is full of these delicious cuisines that every day of your trip here has been fun and filled with revelations. It was a satisfying day of long interesting conversations with Barly, hopping from one terracotta temple to another, discovering the Indian and Hindu connections and losing yourself in the beautiful stone images at the Museum.
Thanks Barly, for making this a memorable day in my life in Java. Hope to see you soon as we go exploring other empires and history of this amazing country and friendly & warm people.

Excellent archaeological tour for anyone staying in Surabaya! - Had a perfect tour with guide/driver Barly. I was the only one on the tour, which was great because I got to go at my own faster pace and still see everything I wanted to see. I enjoyed all the beautiful historic sites, and the museum had some great artifacts.
The car was nice and cool and comfortable, and Barly is a very informative and friendly guide who makes the day very enjoyable.

The best guide and the best tour I had - Barly was the best guide I had in four weeks in Indonesia. Not just really knowledgeable but funny, smart, very friendly - we talked about anything and everything and laughed a lot. He was a brilliant companion for a day of history and a day of learning about so many things about Indonesia. He gets more than 5 stars from me.

Important 14-15th century Southeast Asian history lesson - Barly was a personable guide, and a safe driver. I would recommend this day trip to anyone with an interest in the Majapahit empire, which extended from Trowulan in east Java to Temasek (modern-day Singapore).

Awesome Tour with Pak Barli - Pak Barli was my guide and an excellent one at that. His knowledge of the relics was good and very entertaining. Had a great time exploring the different candi all around the town.
I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to Pak Barli for a Majapahit history He is a very nice chap, accommodating, and importantly flexible on the time. Ask for him.

For history buffs - Archeological site with interesting history; buildings are made of red bricks with few remaining reliefs; statues are scattered around in- and outside museum with few English explanations. Barly is a very nice guide/driver who loves to talk about local traditions and history.
