• Surabaya - Prepare for a knowledgeable driver and guide to pick you up at midnight and take you along the Probolinggo road to the Bromo region. The journey from your pick-up point in Surabaya will take approximately 3 hours.
• King Kong Hill - A Jeep (4 WD) will be used to continue the journey, allowing you to enjoy the rugged terrain surrounding the hilly area. The next stop is Mt. Penanjakan or Kingkong Hill, the ideal spot to witness the sunrise over Bromo. The sunrise typically occurs at 4:30 AM. Nighttime temperatures on Mount Bromo usually range from 0 to 12 degrees Celsius, warming as the sun rises. If needed, an extra jacket can be rented for IDR 10,000 at the sunrise viewpoint. While waiting for the morning, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea at a nearby café. A prayer room is available for Muslim visitors, with morning prayers starting as early as 4:15 AM. The café is just about a two-minute walk from the sunrise viewing spot.
• Widodaren - The journey continues down the hill to the jeep parking area, passing through the expansive sea of sand formed by Mount Bromo’s eruption. The route also includes a stop at Widodaren Hill, a tourist destination known for its stunning panoramic views.
• Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park - The trip to the summit takes around 30 minutes. From the peak’s rim, you can view Mt. Semeru, Java Island’s highest mountain, along with the caldera, the Mt. Batok mountains, and the active Bromo crater.
• Luhur Poten Temple - After descending from the Bromo crater, visit the Hindu temple Pura Luhur Poten, a relic from one of Indonesia’s kingdoms. This temple, located near Mount Bromo’s base, is where the predominantly Hindu Tengger tribe conducts religious ceremonies. From the jeep parking area, it’s a 300-meter walk to the temple.
• Surabaya - After completing the trip, return to the Surabaya area. You will be dropped off at the same location as your pick-up. Alternatively, you can request to be dropped off at another location within Surabaya City.
