- Wat Phra That Doi Suthep - Guests will meet the guide for this half-day tour in the lobby of any downtown accommodation in Chiang Mai before setting off to admire some of Chiang Mai’s most renowned landmarks. The journey begins with a drive out of the city center towards one of the country’s most sacred temples. The 600-year-old Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, located near the summit of Suthep Mountain, is a must-visit for any dedicated Chiang Mai enthusiast. After a drive up the mountain’s winding road, the final ascent to the site is via a stunning Naga (dragon-headed serpent) staircase with 306 steps. Inside, there is a fascinating copper-plated Chedi topped by a five-tier gold umbrella containing partial relics of Lord Buddha. On a clear day, the views over the city of Chiang Mai are unparalleled.
- Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara - After descending the serpentine road back to Chiang Mai and continuing the tour, visitors arrive at the sacred grounds of Wat Chedi Luang. Once home to the famous Emerald Buddha, it is one of the more revered temples in Chiang Mai. This temple once boasted the tallest Chedi until an earthquake in the 15th century toppled the upper section. Today, it still stands 60 meters high.
- Wat Phan Tao - Next, the tour continues with a walk to Wat Phan Tao, an ancient temple known for its exquisite Lanna-style ordination hall made entirely of teakwood. It is one of the few remaining all-wooden structures of its kind in Chiang Mai.
- Warorot Market (Kad Luang) - The final stop is at Talat Warowod, the city’s largest market. A bustling hub of trade, it is located in the heart of the city and is well-loved for its lively atmosphere. The wet market section is particularly popular, where fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables create a vibrant display.
After leaving the market, the tour returns to the downtown hotel.
