Observe the residents’ colorful clothing and feel free to bargain for handicrafts at the small shops along the narrow path to the beautiful garden near the hilltop. The garden is stunning with a variety of colorful flowers, and the view from the garden is also fantastic.
Rent a Hmong costume for 50 baht (at your own expense) for photo opportunities.
There is a lovely coffee shop at the top overlooking the village. Be sure to try the coffee made from beans grown by the hill tribe, as well as the strawberries. - Chiang Mai - Enjoy lunch at a clean, delicious, and affordable restaurant.
- Umbrella Village - Bor Sang - Take a 20-30 minute drive to the Bo Sang Handicraft Centre, where local artisans create the world-famous paper umbrellas with brilliant designs that are mysteriously impervious to rain. Watch the entire process from making the bamboo struts, covering them with paper, drying them, and then hand-painting them. You can request them to paint a variety of beautiful designs on items you bring (such as a purse, mobile phone covers, handbag, hat, jacket, t-shirt, or even the leg of your jeans). Even intricate scenic designs can be painted on your object right before your eyes in minutes. This would make a treasured gift for yourself or someone special back home.
-
Sankampaeng Hot Springs - Visit the Sankampaeng hot springs, a relaxing spot with plenty of flowers and green space.
Don’t forget about the eggs. Purchase eggs in a basket and hang them in the water where it emerges from the ground at 105 degrees C. Then roll up your pant legs, remove your footwear, and dip your feet in the free foot bath. Retrieve your eggs and enjoy them with sauce while indulging in hot water therapy.
There are several options for enjoying the springs, including a massage place, mineral bath, and swimming pool. Enjoy a picnic with the locals.
