• Panmen Gate - Visit Panmen Gate, a historical landmark in Suzhou. It is the only existing water and land parallel gate in China and a symbol of ancient Suzhou. Now part of the Panmen Gate Scenic Area, it is famous for the “three landmarks of Pan Gate”: the Ruiguang Pagoda, the Wu Gate Bridge, and Panmen Gate itself. The Ruiguang Pagoda, made of brick with wooden platforms, features simple Buddhist carvings at its base.
• Pingjiang Road - Take a leisurely walk down Pingjiang Historic Street to immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. This quiet, leafy, and slow-paced street is lined with traditional Chinese houses, as well as restaurants and teahouses offering local foods and drinks.
• Suzhou Ancient Grand Canal - Next, visit the Grand Canal. The Suzhou section is vital for freight transport, moving coal, construction materials, rice, oil, and various agricultural products to the city, towns, and villages. Today, you can enjoy a private rowing boat cruise on the Grand Canal to admire the historical sites along the river.
• Suzhou Silk - The final stop is Suzhou No. 1 Silk Mill, which boasts a long and rich history of silk culture, including mulberry tree and silkworm cultivation, and transforming raw silk into beautiful fabric.
