The museum showcases China’s 6,000-year-old silk history, from exquisite silk cultural relics, mulberry planting, and silkworm breeding to finished garments. Additionally, there are performances of traditional silk weaving and demonstrations of modern silk technology in daily life. Overall, the Suzhou Silk Museum combines static exhibits with dynamic activities, blending tradition with modernity.
• Shantang Street - Next, you will visit Shantang Street, also known as Seven-mile Shantang, a thriving ancient street block built in 852 AD. Visiting this historic place, you will see many charming old houses selling local food and delicate handicrafts, allowing you to experience the authentic flavor of old Suzhou and Wu culture from ancient times.
