• Panmen Gate - The tour guide will meet guests at their hotel or Suzhou Railway Station at 09:00 a.m. From there, the group will proceed to Panmen Gate to begin the one-day Suzhou tour. Panmen Gate is renowned for its three landmarks: “Ruiguang Pagoda,” the oldest pagoda in Suzhou, constructed in 247; “Wu Gate Bridge,” which served as the entrance over the water passage and was the tallest bridge in Suzhou at the time; and the unique water-and-land gate in China, “Pan Gate.”
• Suzhou Museum - Following the visit to Panmen Gate, the tour will continue to Suzhou Museum. Designed by I.M. Pei, an internationally acclaimed and award-winning architect, the museum is one of Suzhou’s most popular attractions. Situated in the historic district near the Humble Administrator’s Garden, Suzhou Museum attracts art, architecture, and culture enthusiasts. The museum showcases an extensive collection of ancient ceramics, cultural relics, and woodcarvings, with a stunning lotus pool at its center.
• Humble Administrator’s Garden - After exploring Suzhou Museum, the tour will proceed to Humble Administrator’s Garden. Spanning approximately 52,000 sq. meters (12.85 acres), it is the largest and most celebrated garden. Its unique designs and ethereal beauty have earned it numerous accolades. It is recognized as a World Cultural Heritage site and is designated as one of the Cultural Relics of National Importance under State Protection, as well as a Special Tourist Attraction of China. Alongside the Summer Palace in Beijing, the Mountain Resort of Chengde in Hebei Province, and the Lingering Garden in Suzhou, it is considered one of China’s four most famous gardens.
• Pingjiang Road - The tour will then move to Pingjiang Road. Stretching 1,606 meters, Pingjiang Road is a stone path with a river running alongside it. The area features bridges over the river, houses with white walls and black roofs lining the stone road, and leisurely strolling locals, offering a glimpse into traditional Suzhou life. It is also a picturesque scene reminiscent of traditional Chinese paintings, making it a favorite among tourists. Due to its nostalgic charm, Pingjiang Road symbolizes the ancient city of Suzhou. Just a street away from the bustling Guanqian Pedestrian Street, Pingjiang Road offers a peaceful escape.
• Kun Opera Museum - The final stop of the tour is the Kun Opera Museum. Kunqu Opera, regarded as the “ancestor of Chinese operas,” is one of the oldest surviving forms of Chinese opera. Originating from the Kunshan melody, it has been recognized as one of UNESCO’s Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity since 2001.
