• Breiðamerkurjökull - These ice caves are naturally formed, and each autumn, guides embark on “ice cave hunting” to discover new caves and check the status of existing ones. The caves’ structure and condition can vary greatly from year to year. Daily, guides select which cave to visit based on weather conditions and, most importantly, the safety of the guests.

If you’re heading to the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, this excursion is a must-do, offering a truly unique experience. Your adventure kicks off at Jökulsárlón, where your guides will meet you and provide the necessary equipment for the ice caves. You’ll then hop into a modified 4x4 or super jeep to reach the caves. The drive takes about 30 minutes and is filled with excitement and breathtaking scenery. The guides are both informative and entertaining, sharing facts about the area, local stories, fairytales, and anything else you might want to know. Upon arrival, there’s a short walk to the ice caves, where your guides will continue to share insights about the magnificent Vatnajökull glacier. Inside the cave, you’ll have plenty of time to explore, take photos, and simply enjoy your vacation.
