Don’t let the crowds keep you from doing it - Amazing guides making the experience very enjoyable. It was raining and cloudy, which could have really dampened the experience - but it was completely unique and a lot of interesting views- like most things in the area this was very popular in the summer, so it did feel a bit like grand central station on the glacier, but once we got higher the crowds thinned, which I was grateful for.

Highly recommended! - An awesome experience! Troll.is provides you with all the necessary equipment (including boots and rain gear rentals if you don't have your own) and a great guide for your walk. Our guide, Mark, was extremely knowledgeable about glaciers and was very patient and helpful throughout our tour. You do need to be able to hike uphill and downhill, with a decent amount of altitude gain, but you don't need to be a hardcore hiker to enjoy/complete the tour. A great company to go with and a wonderful part of the Iceland experience.

5 hour hike was fantastic - We went back and forth about the different tours and ended up taking the longer 5 hour tour. It was definitely the right choice. We saw where the 4 hour tours went to and we got to go much further up on the glacier to the ice wall. Our guide was terrific about teaching everyone how to use the equipment and about the glacier itself. It was an excellent trip overall.

Have Fun Up&down the Ice - Loved the tour! It was fun! Does not require any particular hiking skills - if you want real stuff, go private. But with the group, there's no hurry. The guide chooses only safe paths through the glacier, still you'll see beautiful spots and have fun walking up and down the ice in crampons. Jay, our guide, was very helpful and caring, and, at the same time, entertaining, so we had a fantastic time. The company provides all necessary stuff, including proper hiking boots, so if you decide to take this tour without advance planning, you'll be still well equipped. My rating is 10 out of 10)) I definitely recommend this tour!

Just amazing. Must do! - This hike was just amazing. I highly recommend the 5 hour tour (3 hours is just not enough!). The scenery was breathtaking, it was not a super hard hike, and we felt safe at all times with our excellent guide. 5 stars to our awesome, knowledgeable, funny guide Jean-Romain, the experience would not have been the same without him. We crossed paths with other Troll guides along the way, and everyone seemed super friendly and that they clearly know what they are doing up on the glacier. A must do in Iceland for sure.

Good tour limit the stops for pictures and enjoy nature! - Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable but he could have kept the group a little more organized. Unfortunately our group didn’t walk far because people only wanted to take pictures of themselves. I think the company could do a better job listing some rules about stopping for photos. It was still a great experience.
