The Kaiserliches, an Imperial District Court built in 1901, served as the district magistrate’s court during the German colonial era. The Marine Memorial, erected in 1908, honors members of the First Marine Expedition Corps who died during the Herero War of 1904-1905. It remains a historical monument near the State House.
